Triceps are screaming!!!!!!!!!!

I did Gym Style Chest and Triceps for the first time ever on Wednesday and my triceps are still feeling it!!! If I would have been able to keep up with Cathe doing the drop set push-ups, I bet my chest would be sore too! But no...I wasn't even close to doing them all on my toes...been awhile since my knees crashed to the floor so fast!!!:7 :7 :7
 
Oh Sarah I know what you mean about the screaming triceps. Cathe was not lying when she says you are going to burn.

I truly LOVE this w/o.

I have done this w/o about 4 or 5 times and each time the burn feels so good. The first two times I've done this exercise I was not able to do 20# bench or flyes right after the push-ups, b/c I swear it felt as though the life was gone from my arms. But now I'm able to keep up with her using the same weights throughout the entire w/o. Now my challenge is to go at least 5#'s heavier (maybe).

I dread this workout because of those darn push-ups!! I can do them, but I HATE every minute of it!! But like Haydee said, my chest is pretty fried afterwards. Moving up in weights? Not for a while...

And the triceps...whew!! Nothing more to say...

That's exactly what I said the first time I did GS: C/T! Love that feeling...it is so worth it!

The best part of this workout is the shower afterwards. I can barely get my arms up high enough to shampoo my hair. :)

Same here, when I jump in the shower it's a challenge to get my arms up to where my head is. But I love the feeling and knowing that I've completely exhausted those muscles and my body is now runing at full speed to repair all the little micro tears I made and reinforce them with many more muscle fibers. So the next time I do that workout, I'll be a little bit stronger and do an extra rep, and do the whole process all over again.

Thanks guys! You're making me feel so much better. I did this workout yesterday for the 3rd time. Today I did my monthly Costco run and was really "feeling it" when I was unloading all that stuff out of the van. It's probably a really good thing that I didn't get one of those buckets of laundry soap this time.

My goal is to make it through the drop sets of pushups on my toes--it might be a long-term goal at that.x( I think I'll do the GS workouts every week for a while and see if I can't work up faster. And here I was being so happy that I could finally do all the pushups in Body Max--Whoa! I was so naive not to think that something much more challenging would be coming. I mean, look how "power scissors" evolved into the evil "power lunges" and the reps kept multiplying like rabbits.

I did GS Legs today and was thinking (during the slow lunges) that the GS series is proof that Cathe really does stay up nights trying to think of ways to torture us--in a good way, of course.}( After all, who else but Cathe can tack on extra reps when you're dying, call it a "BONUS" and have you thanking her for it?;)

I LOVE this workout, I did it today as well. I can do the chest presses with 25 lbs. and then the flies with 20's (both flat and inclined positions). Today I added a third set to the inclines. My chest was flaming. I can do the 72 push ups as well, but I rest a bit more between each set.

My tri's are already screaming at me as well, I went quite heavy with each exercise (heavier than Cathe). I will be dying tomorrow!

Sarah, I just got this DVD and did it for the first time yesterday. That band work really got me or I should say finished me... the pushups at the beginning were crazy... I couldn't believe it every time she went down for another set....
 
Hi Sarah,

I did the same workout today but only did chest. I usually can do both muscles but just didn't have it in me today. Sure is a challenging workout. I am now doing 2 sets on the chest presses with 20's and the final set w/ 15's. Not getting any furthur with those darn pushups. Only the 16 and 14 on toes after that I let my knees support me. But I am glad she's a challenge. I have much room for improvement.:)

Sarah, I can keep up with her triceps really decently, but good gracious !!! Her pushups make me want to shrivel up & die after about 13...o.k. I can muster out another 12 but I can already tell you it's not possible for me to pump out a total of 72.
