Tread Climber

Hi,

Does anybody own a tread climber? It is similar to a tread mill
and made by Nautilus. I am considering purchasing one but they
are expensive. Starting price is $1500.00. I need to have something
for the long winter. If anybody has one do you like it?

thanks,

Cindy

I don't have one, but it looks fascinating. If what they say is true, it would give a very good workout. But I wouldn't get one without trying it. The motion might not suit everyone's knees or ankles. Also, I'd be worried that there are more moving parts to break down than with a regular treadmill (I think I read about some folks who have one...maybe on www.eopinions.com ? ...and it stopped being able to do one of the movements).

I heard the same thing. More moving parts- more things to break.

In a fitness magazine I read that an eliptical trainer burns the most calories. Of course, they weren't comparing it to a tread climber, just to stationary bikes, treadmills and stair steppers.

Those Ellipticals are so dull though. 15 minutes on it and I'm close to throwing myself off. How can it burn more calories when it's nothing near like running? It doesn't even feel hard even if you up the intensity.
