Transition Challenge Week of 7/08-7/12

Hi Everyone,

I didn't see a challenge posted this week, so I'm starting one. This week I'm still on the CTX rotation and today's workout is Power circuit. I love that workout; it really works on the low back and legs. The planks are still something I have to aquire a taste for, but I feel them every time!

How was everyone's holiday weekend? I hope you are enjoying the summer and the weather is kind.

Otisan!!!! It's SOOOO good to hear from you! I'm glad things are going well in your life. (and thank you for the costume comments! I think I'll always remember the Roman Soldier ..... )

FS - I'm with you regarding getting back on track. It's Wednesday and I haven't worked out so far this week. When I get home from work, I've been helping my DH put up the trim in the new basement. The furniture came today, YEAH!!! Things are finally coming together!

Wednesday is date night with my DH so I'm planning on a casual dinner out (probably Mexican -- my favorite is veggie or shrimp fajitas) and hopefully some yoga. I still have time to get my four weekly workouts in if I start tonight. And a round of golf on top of that!

I'm really disciplining myself to spend more time with my language skills. I read/listen to French at lunchtime if I'm not having lunch with a client. I can tell improvements in just the last week that I've been back on track. FS, your reminder that we're half way through the year got my butt in gear. I want to more proficient in French by New Year's and that means being proficient at some of the more complicated verb tenses. It's painful .....

It's good to see the Transformers hanging in. I pledge that I will be a smarter/stronger person by Dec. 31.

SOOOO busy at work - GOOD busy but just not much time to post here. I'll try to check in at least once a week though! Like you say Juli, nice see the group hanging on.

Doing my own thing routine - its summer so just going with what I feel like for the day!

Hi girls,

Well, I did the last of the SS tapes today. This last one, SIU I think, was really long but not too difficult. Lots of waist whittlers in this one. I'm really feeling Rhythmic Step calling me though so that will probably be tomorrow's wo. We have DH's class reunion tomorrow- 30 years! I'm sort of dreading it. The girls were a cliqueish(sp?) group way back then. I'm hoping to find some other spouses to hang back and watch the crowd with. At least I'll be in a pair of new size 6 pants(even if they are Ann Taylor who everyone knows sizes things on the big side) Got some new strappy sandals and some dangly earrings too. Ok, I'm going to think positive from now on. Hope everyone is ok.

It's raining here.It's nice&cool.Nice change from the heat wave.Did four workouts this week.I can't wait for my Susan tape and my rebounder.Eating needs serious help.I'm working on a game plan.Have a great weekend.

Juli, it sounds like you're making a lot of progress with your French tapes. Can you have short conversations yet? Are you able to understand when it's spoken to you? Keep up the great work!

Gloria, have a great time at the reunion. I'm sure you're going to be a knockout! DF's is this year as well (his 20th), but it's falling on the day we're getting married, so we'll have to wait until the next one :)

Firmscorpio, glad to hear that the workouts and food plan have been a success. I'm starting WW on Monday. Summer is never a good time for me and eating plans, but I hope this year is different.

Last night I did 10-10-10 along with biceps from Kickbox. Today is LL, since my upper body is begging for mercy! This is the last week of the CTX rotation and then I'm starting 1 hour cardio along with a body part per day from PS. I find I can keep on track when I follow this kind of rotation. Gloria, I've been very anxious to start RS, so enjoy it today!

Thx Otisan - yep I got the job about 6 weeks ago. So far so good. It's a WONDERFUL group of folks. Lots of integrity, which is SO important. I'm incredibly busy we have so much new business (which in this economy is great). The 12 minute commute is just the icing on the tape. Yes I feel very blessed thanks.

Gloria - how was the reunion. We'd love to hear - sure you did wonderfully!

Juli - excellent with the language. Great for you.

FS - sounds like you are doing great stuff with the workouts :)

Had a nice 3 mile run this am... feeling really good! Was lay leader at church today - SOOO NERVOUS - but did well :)
