Transforming Violets in May!!!

Wendy, I guess if you have doms tomorrow, then you will now how bad it really was. (evil laugh). Was it a pre-mix from L & G? I only have the FitTV version of the Body Blast Series so I miss out on all their pre-mixes.

Now I need to decide what to do tomorrow morning. I guess it will be cardio, but I don't know what yet.

Jean

Hi Jean.

Yeah. L&G Xtreme is a premix. I can tell ya what it consists of and you can just put it together yourself!}(

warm up
standing leg work x 2
ankle weight work x 2
floor work once
stretch

It's an 80 min work out. It works the legs good but it's not as scarey as I had envisioned. Definately doable. I am a big fan of the Butts and Guts Leg Blast Premix...I personally think it gives you more burn for your buck then the Xtreme premix does.....Ofcourse, you are right in that if I end up not being able to walk tmrw I will be singing a different tune! LOL

Well, have a great night!

Wendy, thanks for the break down. I'll have to give it a try some time.

Today was BM2 Cardio + abs. I love the step routines in this one. They are so much fun.

Jean

Today I did MM upper body premix going as heavy as possible + SSE's 6 min abs. I didn't do what I was SUPPOSED to do ofcourse but it worked!:p

I have Xflowsion on tap for tonight (yoga).

I am still pressing on with my workouts and my home makeover. I started my day yesterday morning with my quiet time followed by Cardio Kicks. This was my first Cathe workout almost 2 years ago, and I still love it. Cardio Kicks is even more fun with the extra space I have in my newly clutter free workout area. After work, I did laundry, cleared out one dresser drawer, and found a bunch of brand new underwear that I can safely donate to charity. I looked at the size and decided that 32" hips are not in my future. I am not sure what I was thinking when I bought these, but I have more realistic goals now!

After my quiet time this morning, I had fun with Low Impact Circuit. This is the first time I have pulled out this workout in 2007. It is a lot of fun! The first combination is my favorite. I am not wild about the third combination with all the lunges, so I may substitute the bonus cardio next time. I love the band work.

I am doing a great job of keeping this place in order. Everything has a home, and all my workout toys get picked up immediately after each workout. I worked too hard to let the clutter overwhelm me again. My home transformation is not accomplished by any stretch of the imagination. I basically tackled the visible clutter during my kick start. The deeper cleansing will take more time. I am devoting at least 10 minutes a day to accomplishing something no matter how small. Baby steps taken consistently over time produce dramatic results. I have lived in the same home for over 10 years and have a lot of stuff to sort through. This is journey, not a quick fix. Learning to maintain what I have already accomplished would be progress worth celebrating. It was so nice to call maintenance this week for repairs and not have to clean or move a thing before the guy arrived.

I am getting my desk and office in order too. My boss is planning to be out of the office tomorrow after lunch and out of town Monday and Tuesday. That will give me time to get organized.

My eating was clean again today. I am ready for the weekend!

Jean and Wendy, great workouts!

Blessings,
Heather B.

Happy Friday everyone. This morning's workout was only 30 min on the tread mill. I got up and started sorting through some mail clutter and it took me longer than I thought it would and cut into my workout time. Why do we get so much junk mail? I always set aside the catalogs, thinking that I will eventually look through them and they end up just stacking up. I rarely buy anthing out of them so I should just throw them out the day they arrive. But then I might miss that one bargain that I can't live without LOL.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Wendy glad your workout worked for you, even if it wasn't what you were suppose to do. With so many choices it's hard to stick with the plan sometimes.

Heather, great job on your workouts and your new found freedom from clutter. Keep up the good work.

Jean

Yea, the weekend is here. I did lower body work this morning using the exercises from PLB, but not doing pyramid style. Just tried to go heavy and do as many reps and sets as I could.

Well I'm off to get my hair cut. Big ordeal for me. I'm going to try a layered style. I normally only get my hair trimmed once every 4-5 months and then it is just the ends. I like being able to pull it back in a pony tail to work out in. I also like the fact that I don't really style it every day. Simply blow dry the bangs and let the rest dry naturally. So having a new style is going to be a big deal for me. I hope it turns out Ok and doesn't require alot of time to style it to make it look right. I have been letting my hair grow out for years and don't really want to start that process over if I don't like it. In the same breath, I also don't want something that requires a lot of maintainence. OK I better go now, before I talk myself out of trying this new style. Wish me luck.

Jean

Good Luck with the new hairstyle Jean!:)

I don't know what work out I am going to do today. I have many ideas whirling around in my head right now!:7

I'll come back and let you know what I did once it's done.

Toodles!:+

My work out is complete. I did SS cardio core express, SS 6 minute abs and Xflowsion Amazing Abs. The combo made for one heck of an intense ab/core work out! An hour of feeling the burn in the belly! WOOH!}(

I successfully completed the first week of my new rotation. After my Friday morning quiet time, I enjoyed all 3 segments of Stretch Max. I love this workout. It feels so soothing and restorative. My boss played in a golf tournament yesterday afternoon, so it was a peaceful day at work. I had a good session with my counselor after work. I think she is going to wrap up our sessions soon because I am doing so well!

After my quiet time this morning, I did the Butts and Guts warm-up, leg blast premix, and abs. That leg blast premix never gets easier! Firewalkers and walking lunges, oh my! Not to mention, leg presses and one-legged squats. Mercy! Butts and Guts, Gym Style Legs, and Leaner Legs are my favorite lower body workouts of all time.

I read a few more chapters from my clutter clearing book and made some more progress in that area. Mr. Clean Sweep insists on no junk drawer, so I cleared out the junk bunker in my desk today. I thought about having friends over tonight and playing a game to see who could identify some of the stuff I found in that drawer. I know I saved it for a reason. I am just not sure what it is!

I took another big step this afternoon too. My workouts shoes that I packed in a big shopping bag have been in the trunk of my car (which is my emotional withdrawal box!) for a week. I delivered them to the consignment shop this afternoon. I packed more stuff for charity too. I need to get those boxes out of my trunk next week.

Today was my planned treat day. I want to keep my weekly treats moderately clean for the duration of this rotation. I was craving cheese, so I scrambled an organic egg with an ounce of Cabot extra sharp white cheddar cheese. I usually wrap it in a whole wheat tortilla (which has soybean oil and some white flour in it). I filled a whole grain and flaxseed pita instead. Yummy! It was higher in fiber with no white flour and no junk ingredients. That was my lunch. For my afternoon snack, I enjoyed a chocolate coconut raw organic food bar for the first time. These must be new because I have not seen them before. The ingredients are organic cashew butter, organic dates, organic agave nectar, organic brown rice protein, organic dark chocolate chips (non-dairy), organic coconut, organic quinoa, organic bio sprouts, flax, and lots of love! These bars are cold processed and contain no refined sugar, no dairy, and no soy. Each bar has 200 calories, 25 grams of carbs, 9 grams of protein, 10 grams of fat, and 2 grams of fiber. Not bad for a bar that tastes better than candy! I was satisfied with half, and it was out of this world good!

Jean, I hope you enjoy the new hairstyle.

Wendy, you are such a rotation rebel like me!

Blessings,
Heather B.

Good Morning.

Heather: Good job on completing the first week of your rotation! I am glad you are seeing progress in your de-cluttering project as well. I know how hard it can be to part with some things even if you haven't used them in ages! LOL

Today's work out will ride on the arthritis flare up in my neck that I am dealing with right now. I have to see what it allows me to do. My plan is for Cardio Sculpt and either a run or Cathe cardio. I am also considering some yoga at some point as I haven't done it TWO WEEKS! I made attempt after attempt and they all got destroyed! I am getting upset. I was doing really well with it. I do not want to go backwards in my progress. :-( Sometimes it's just so friggin' hard to fit it all in. ACK!

Off to get some food now! BBL!

:9

Cardio Sculpt Express and Itread set 10/30 mins are DONE!

My arthritic neck is not all better yet but under control.

DH and I are taking DS to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time later this afternoon. I am very excited!:7

Have a great day!:)

Good Morning.

I ended up doing about 40 minutes of my new Xflowsion work out last night since DS was asleep and DH wasn't home for a while. It is definately yoga with a funky, fun flare to it. You need to be in the mood for something different, not traditional yoga. I was skipping over alot of the funk cause I wanted to do traditional yoga. I should have just done another vid last night but curiousity killed the cat!:p I think I will pull this vid back out soon and do it with all of it's funk and flare. It looks fun!:)

Today is leg day (I will be picking my poison when I am ready to work out!) and tonight is my running class.

Have a good day!

B&G Standing Glute and Abs Premix, 14 reverse grip chin ups + running class (about 3 miles) DONE!}(

Tomorrow is Tear It Up! Bring on the boredom, baby!:p

Wendy, it sounds like you are tearing it up. Wow all those chin ups.

This morning was heavy upper body work. I'm already feeling it.

Heather, sounds like you are doing great.

As for my hair. It turned out OK. She kept quite a bit of the length. The layers are kind of choppy which I wasn't expecting. I'll have to get used to it.

Jean

Hi Wendy, Heather and anyone else who might stop by.

Yesterday's upper body was just a little of everything. I was watching the news, so I just made sure to do at least 2 different exercises for each muscle group and tried to complete at least 10 reps as heavy as I could stand it.

Today, I had to work early so I'm hoping to get something in tonight. Maybe spin class at 7:00. That would be a treat. I could really use the calorie burn, because DH will be going out Friday to celebrate our anniversary. Yesterday was the actual day, but since we both work, we figure Friday would be the best day to celebrate.

Funny story about the hair. This morning I was just going to let it dry naturally on the way to work to see how the layers dry on their own. I have slightly curly hair and sometimes it looks cute when it dries curly. I kept feeling it (I have an hour commute and this morning ended up being 1 1/2 due to a wreck). As I'm feeling it dry, I'm like "oh, now that's it's in layers its drying nice and curly." I get to work and look in the mirror and I have this bush on my head. Thank goodness I keep a curling iron there so I was able to fix it. I guess I'll have to get some of that curling gel that Heather mentioned before. See if that helps. Oh well, at leat I like it when it is fixed.

What's on your workout schedules for today?

Jean

Hello in Violet land.

This morning I squeezed in 30 min of Cardio & Weights and tonight I finally made it to spin class. I did an ab machine afterwards. I also ventured over to the assisted chin up machine (inspired by you, Wendy). Maybe some year, I'll be able to do an unassisted pullup, but definitely not now. I did 4 at 40 lbs of assistance and then tried 30 lbs and barely did 2. Wendy you rock.
Spin class opened my eyes to 2 things I needed to see (1 good and 1 bad)This was not because of the class, but because of what I choose to wear. Let me explain. It's getting warm here in Texas so I picked out one of my new Champion T-back tops. I usually wear a t shirt. Well the mirrors in the spin room showed me that I am getting some definition in my arms (that was the good). The mirrors also showed how giggly my mid section is. (that's the bad, although it is kind of good to see myself in a different light so I can make improvements). I really need to concentrate and focus on my eating. The workouts are coming along, but the eating is a battle.

I hope everyone else is doing well this week. Tomorrow will be legs. Probably GS.

jean

Jean, Keep at it with those chin ups and you'll get there! Remember I did LOTS of them every week, twice a week for 3 solid months when I was doing the X! So how do you like spin? Was this your first time?

I had yoga slated for today and took it easy even with that. I usually do power yoga but today I did a slower moving, gentler work out: XFlowsion's Calm Down Dog. It was 30 mins and fit the bill perfectly. :)

Tomorrow is spin class for sure and possibly Shape It Up + chin ups. I had SIU/chin ups slated for Friday but if I have the energy to get it all in tmrw I would rather rest on Friday since I have a lot to do before I leave for my weekend away!

I just received a set of 4 resistance tubes in the mail. I am going to take them and my running gear with me this weekend so that I can work out a bit while I am away. }(

Have a great night!
