TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE!3/31-4/6

Hi girls. Fitdoc-You're right! I DO feel like I'm "empty". I've been here before and recovered. There's just so much going on to deal with. Thanks for being there guys. Have a great Wednesday. Janice

Hi ladies,

Fitdoc, hope you feel better fast.

Another bad bug exposure here! I hope it goes away fast since on Saturday I am hosting my DS's B-day party of sixty friends and families, little and big people, at our home. Can't afford any down time!
I did the non-stop lower body and the hard core abs and back today.

Got to go spread some germs!!;) ;).... Just joking!!

Take care everyone.

Hi all of you sick and achy ladies. What's going on here? Janice and Otisan with the back and neck problems and our little medical staff hit with a bad bug. Hope everyone feels better soon. I'm going to hold my breath and type fast. Bita, you can always call Chick Fil A and get a party platter for Saturday.

Juli, I had to laugh at your "that's not real life" comment. So true! I love planning and knowing I can do 5 workouts a week instead of feeling guilty that I didn't do 6.

Otisan, that is Leah's daughter with the red hair. They really do look alike, and act more alike than either of them is willing to admit. God knew what he was doing when he gave me boys to raise.

Today was my rest day. DH and I had a picnic at the river and we plan to play tennis tonight. I'm going to run him all over that court. He needs some exercise.

Seriously, I hope things improve for everyone soon.

Gloria

HI! I'm feeling a bit better - so I struggled through BootCamp today (all the while the toddler has a running commentary).

It's done! It makes me feel better just knowing I did something.:D

Take care. Gotta run DS2 to the dentist.

Bita, feel better - though you're tougher than I - you still did your workout while ill!

(Sunsetbeach, you know you are welcome to check in with us any time!)

Hi All --

Can sickness be transmitted over the Internet? I'm really achy like most you. Oh No! Last night I went to bed at 7 and slept for 2 hours then I woke up long enough to watch CSI. Then back to bed for the night. Better the am, though. We'll see how the energy holds up.

Hope to do a w.o. tonight.

Juli

Hello all,

I'm sorry to see a lot of you feeling ill this week. Let's hope the weekend brings upon a speedy recovery. I'm feeling a lot better, but as of last night the chiro still said no exercise. I guess I shouldn't have snuck in a 3 mile walk that afternoon and 50 minutes on the elliptical machine the night before! Bad, I know, but I hate being cut down in the height of my Cathe kick x(

Despite being idle, I managed to shave off 3lbs in two weeks. That came after a three week plateau. Who knows how this inactivity is going to effect my efforts, but I'm keeping at it!

Waves to Bita, Gloria, Janice, Fitdoc, Wildpony, Juli, Firmscorpio, Robyn and everyone else. Have a great day!

Hi ladies,

Well, thanks to theraflu, I am feeling much much better!

Gloria, I think your suggestion for ordering out is fanastic. Thanks!
I just wish they had a cleaning team too!;)

Fitdoc, glad you are feeling better.

Otisan, glad you are doing better. Could you ask your chiro if you can do stretches? I have this yoga zone tape that so gently stetches and releases the tension, specially the first 15-20 minutes concentrates on the neck and shoulder area. Let me know, if you'd like, and I can send it to you.

Juli, take care of yourself. I am sending you good, strong energies through the computer! So that's why they have anti-virus for the internet!!;)

Big Hi to everyone.

I did urban rebounding today. I like that stuff!

Have yourselves a beautiful day.
:)

Glad to see most of you are some better anyway. I guess aches, pains and bugs will always be with us. Be thankful for the normal days.

I did Stepfit this morning and then headed out to shop for DS's 21st birthday. I was married at 22, why does he seem so much younger than I was? Hard to believe.

I have to take my mil to the dr. in the morning so I plan to get up early and do S&H B&T. That's the plan anyway.

Otisan, congrats on your weight loss. Have you started your wedding dress yet? I have a feeling you'll be altering it a few times.

Gloria

Good Evening. Today’s workout was Imax2.

Juli and Bita, feel better!
Otisan, You go girl! 3# gone!
Gloria, I know what you mean. My DS just turned 19 and I was a mom at 18! Yikes. (He's lucky to be alive with all the "wisdom" I possessed at 18.)

Long day tomorrow. Must run! Take care.

Hi Ladies -- Did KV's Yoga Sculpt last night. Didn't want anything too intense.

Now DH has the "Fatigue Bug" too. Both of us are under the weather. I see a nap in my future .....

Otisan -- great job on your weight loss! Three pounds is 10,500 calories that you had the willpower not to eat. Give yourself a pat on the back (if the chiro says it's ok).

Janice -- You hangin in? Be good to yourself. You give alot to others.

Gloria -- How's your MIL? I remember she wasn't doing well. I hope she's better now.

Waves to fitdoc, FS, bita, smiley, robyn and everyone else.

Juli

Hi all,

Got up early and did S&H B&T this morning. I even got my Bible reading in before taking mil to her appointment. Did a lot of praying for patience and talking to myself during the hour drive there and back. You know the stereotypical mil jokes? Well, she's that and then some. I just have to remind myself how much I love my husband. It just wears me out to listen to her bitc* all the time. Some people never seem to be happy.

Juli, a nap can never be wrong for what ails you. I hope you can find the time to squeeze one in today.

It should be a beautiful weekend. I hope we can spend some time doing a little fishing. I'll try to post a picture of our pond so you can see where us rural folks relax and drink beer. Have a great day.

Hi Ladies -

I'm off from work today. As a sales rep, I can't afford to be down and draggy in front of my customers so I took a sick day. I took two (!!!) naps this morning. I hated to stay in the house because it will make me feel down so I pulled weeds this afternoon while my DH cut the grass. What a beautiful day it is! Fresh air definitely makes body and soul feel better.

I uncovered my rose garden today. It looks like 10 of the 12 bushes made it through the winter. I was amazed because I'm not good at the over-wintering stuff. Rose bushes can be expensive to replace, so I'm pleased for more reasons than one.

The SELF Challenge lets me count my garden work as my "additional activity" for the week. I'm glad to see this being added to the Challenge this year and the recognition that this kind of "lifestyle" activity counts toward a healthier life. While I certainly don't think it counts as a real workout, it's better than nothing. I'm amazed how little exercise most people get. In my office of 15 people, only 2 of us get any on a regular basis. Myself and my boss; he takes a martial arts class with his son three times a week and lifts weights on the other nights.

Speaking of the Challenge, did I tell you that I got my T-shirt from last year's Challenge as well as some discount coupons for some cool workout gear? I just received it this week. They had some problems getting the coupons printed so things were sent out real late.

My best to all -

Juli

P.S. Gloria -- what a great attitude you have. You may not be blessed by your MIL, but she is definitely blessed to have YOU!

I had trouble getting on the forum last couple of days.We have six inches of snow so far.It started Thursday night. It's sleeting out now.I had the day off yesterday.I couldn't be how much snow we had when i woke up.I shovled alittle this morning. It's the heavy stuff. Not fun.The snow was almost all gone until this storm. We are getting another snow Mon&Tues.Enough already.Today i'm doing the firm bootcamp workout #1.

Doing some painting today. This weekend is alot of housework.Trying do get all of our spring cleaning done by Memorial day weekend.Lots of cleaning, organizing, decluttering, redoing stuff etc.To all you sickies out there.Hope you feel better soon.Thank God it's not the SARS diease. What an awful sickness that is spreading. You guys are such great motivators. You are a powerful group.Cleansing is very, very tough.I'm not doing perfect. But, i am making lots of changes. It's a very emotional, learning experience.I'm going to do it all year until i accomplish my goals.I'm doing all four cleanse classes this year.In between classes,i'm going to work on my cleanse habits also.

Like i said. It's very, very hard but,so worth it.You feel amazing.Transformation is the name of the challenge.

Today's workout was Cardio and Weights. So, of course, the song "buttercup" is playing over and over and over again in my brain.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. We have lovely lovely rain/snow. As I've mentioned before, we are in dire need of a wet spring so every minute of rain/snow is a blessing!

DH is out of town for a nuclear echocardiography course so I'm a single mom. Prolly should arrange a hot date at the movies tonight with my dear children.

FS, good to hear from you. You're a busy woman today!
Juli, feel better.

Waves to everybody!

A quick check in to say I did SL this morning. Got in my 5 workouts again this week. DH and I had a movie day. Saw Head of State(his choice, of course) I say don't waste your time on this one. Remember to change your clocks tonight.

Gloria

Hi Ladies -- Did Vol. 3 this a.m. I've been feeling down for the past two days (I think it's a combo of illness and TTOM) It's rare for me to be down for any reason, so I'm just going to blame my hormones. All kidding aside, I was very motivated to workout to lift my mood. Did Vol. 3 and then yoga stretches. It's night now and I feel great.

It's cool here in Cincy today but still nice. I read some of your posts about snow. Wow!

I'm so excited -- tomorrow is the beginning of DST. I've been counting down the days. I love DST because then I can play golf in the evenings with my DH. Or should I say attempt to play golf.

Hope all is well for each of you --

Juli

Hi Deb,
I just saw your pics & wanted to say I am SO impressed. You look absolutely fabulous! Thanks for sharing them.

Hi all,

Juli, TTOM and hormones explain a lot of strange behavior. After all these years I still sometimes don't recognize it. I'll get hit with TTOM and have this epiphany "That's why I've been mopeing(sp?) around for 2 days." You'd think I would have learned by now.

Firmscorpio, snow again? Feels like summertime here. DH and I just played tennis. He beat me today. That's okay, his ego needed a little boost. Especially since I called him my little dough boy the other day. That was one of those 2 day before my TTOM statements. I've had to be extra sweet ever since.

I needed a quick wo today with the time change so I pulled out Vol. 4. It made me appreciate Cathe all the more. I felt sort of like I had cheated or something. It's kind of a cardio, kind of a weight tape. Tomorrow is MIS, I won't feel cheated with that one.

Have a nice Sunday girls.

Gloria
