TRANSFORMATION CHALLENGE 3/3-3/9

Gloria

Cathlete
Hi TChallengers! Guess I'll start this week's post with some encouragement. How about JUST DO IT!! As I was doing All Step along with my CTX biceps and triceps wo this morning I kept having to repeat that to myself. Sometimes you have to give yourself the tough love treatment. I appreciate the encouraging words last week and I know thinking about you guys pushed me through my wo today. March is going to be a great month!

Finished with my Dad's house today. Glad that is behind me. I'm sure I wasn't supposed to but I dug up my mother's beautiful climbing rose to plant in my yard. Couldn't help myself, she loved it so.

Hope everyone makes this a great week. Debbie, Juli- you girls hang in there!

Gloria :)

We've got two threads going. People have been responding to last week's thread and Gloria started this new one for the week. I'll respond to both.

Just finished Muscle Endurance. Man oh man that ab work was tough! (I can’t make it all the way through – perhaps someday . . .)

Ah, yes . . . "Just Do It" . . . a favorite mantra of mine:7

(I also chant this phrase to myself when I'm frustrated: "If anyone can do this - I can")

I feel a great week comin' on!

Sure, we'd love to have you join us. Basicly, someone posts something new each Monday for the week. Some of us have been together for over a year, but we've had people join us all along our journey. It's a daily check in with lots of words of encouragement. We work on our fitness, nutrition, and personal goals. I guess we're in various stages of our fitness levels but we're generally a very committed group. I've learned alot from these folks. Just jump in.

Gloria

Happy 03-03-03!

Today I did Step & Intervals along with Chest from CTX. Yesterday I went to the Sports Authority and got a 15# body bar, some 10# plate weights, a fitness mag and an air pump for our raft. We have also decided to go back to the Grand Canyon, hopefully in April. The goal is to climb down Bright Angels trail, stay overnight at the Phantom Ranch and climb back up the next day. I think we're both going to have to start making LL & PS legs a priority. Here's to a month & a half serious workouts!

Have a great Monday everyone. Spring is almost here, hang on...

Well first I will tell you a little about myself. My name is Amanda. I am turning 27 this month. I have worked out since I was about 16. i love it. It is like recess time for me or something like that:) I just got married this past June to Chris. He is wonderful! We just bought a home in Oct. When we moved we had to budget so I quit my gym and bought almost all cathe's tapes and I have a gym in my basement. I thought I would really miss the gym but I love just walking downstairs and working out in the morning before work. At x-mas I got the CTX series and I have been doing the 16 week rotation(see rotation forum) for 8 weeks. My DH measured me this weekend and I have lost 2 inches in my chest,2 waist and 3 in my hips. I was sooo excited! I just got the new series but I am not starting it until I get 12 weeks done of the 16 so I can see how that rotation works for me. How does everyone like rotations? I love them because they make me stay focused. I am also getting my masters in Business Information Technology. I am a programmer right now.
I love to talk to postive people and people that have a love for working out because even though I have a lot of great friends, none of them really get into fitness like I do. And I love cathe so I am excited to join you all and start sharing POSTIVE THOUGHTS:):)

Hi All --

Just a short post since I'm at work. Did Vol. 5 last night. Selected that one because summer's coming and I wanted to the the abs section. It's the best of what I have.

Welcome, Amanda. Congrats on being a newlywed. Tomorrow is my 20th wedding anniversary. Really hard to believe. It's easy when you marry the right guy.

Gotta run. Check in this evening--

Juli

Hi ladies,
Welcome Amanda. It's wonderful to have you in our awesome circle of amazing ladies.
Juli, Happy anniversary. It's so true about marrying the right person. It sure makes the whole world a magical one.
Otisan, sounds like an amazing trip you guys have plan. What fun!

I did Helen's RAW today.

Warm hello to everyone.
Bita:)

Hello Ladies,

Happy Tuesday to you all. It’s a beautiful day here on the ranch, the birds are singing and the air is fresh. It is lightly sprinkling right now so everything smells so fresh. This is horsey running weather, they love to run and romp when it is just lightly raining, I can see their breath fogging out of their noses as they run around. It is so green here and the flowers are starting to sprout up. It’s fascinating to see how the flowers that just appear grow in patches of white, yellow, orange or violet all on their own. When we were first up here looking at property we were shown another ranch that was all groomed, ya know with manicured fields cleared areas with roads and fencing, graveled roadways, flower beds planted and arranged just so. But being able to just watch the seasons change and grow independent of each other any ways that is natural is so much more beautiful and exciting to us. When I take Stolz on walks around on our trail paths I can see the little seedlings that dropped from the oak trees by the thousands and now they are all open and stretching with little sprouts twisting and turning looking for some place to catch hold of so they can grow and flourish. To think that I would miss that if we kept it all groomed and tailored. Have I mentioned how I love our ranch lately? We closed on this place at the end of last March and moved in the first weekend of April. I can’t believe it has already been that long. It still feels a couple of weeks ago that we left the city life to live here on this mountain. Boy talk about time flying. Okay enough day dreaming.

Today is PUB, yesterday I got my 4 mile run in and I’m working on making those a little faster. I would like to think that I could run the LA Marathon myself next year but we’ll see. Hey it’s something to focus on. I know that my measly little 18 miles a week is not enough right now, but I am getting a 6 mile run in every 4 run now. I just don’t want to increase to quickly though, I understand that it takes a good 6 months before your body gets used to the weekly pounding of regular runs. I have gone through this all before, albeit it has been a hundred or more years ago. ;) Any ways I have a plan and I will stick to it. I’m stronger now than I used to be when I ran all the time, thanks to my Cathe w/o’s. It will be nice when the ground isn’t so muddy and I can take some of my runs outside. I do put Burner on a incline of 1.5 to 2.5 to simulate a little elevation. Yikes am I chatty today or what? Okay I’m going to go now.

Have a nice day all,
Debbie

Amanda- Welcome on board. Congrats on the inches lost. Hey I’m a June bride too the 6th. It will be 24 years this coming June. I married my best friend and lover and he is the most wonderful person that I know. My current rotation is a run/strength thing right now. Although I change my mind often. Any ways welcome.

Juli- Congrats on your wedding anniversary any special plans?

Michelle- Have fun on your trip and be careful. Dh and I are planning a Hawaii week for June right now. It will be nice to be so healthy and able to do all the fun things that I’m now in shape enough to do. Have fun. Hey who is going with you?

Otisan- Have you guys done the Bright Angel trail before? Your trip sounds like fun.

FS- I was thinking I needed another b-bell too. I get a cardio in just trying to switch my plates quickly on PLB. I try and challenge myself to keep up with Cathe and the girls pace on the plate changes. That’s hard to do. I had those little ring collars on my bar but had to go get this clips instead to make it quicker.

Gloria- I hear you on the plant thing. When I was a little girl walking home from the bus stop one day I found a very little century plant that I took home and planted in our yard with a tablespoon. That plant now is soooo huge it must weigh close to a thousand pounds and is at least 10 feet in diameter. Remember we are talking about AZ so this is a huge succulent cacti. It broke my heart to leave it. I drive by when I’m in town just to see it. You were right to take that rose bush.
Hello to all my other transformers…………..

Quickie! (I've got the late shift tonight <insert sigh> again.) I did a light 20 minutes of FIRM cardio. Lots to do before the trip.

Hope y'all are having a great Tuesday:* (I think that's a "kissing" smilie.)

OMG-I did step jam today and then I heard the roads were bad so I decided to wait a bit to go to work. I then did Weights and Cardio for the first time. That was so fun! I loved it! Hope everyone is having a good day!

Good Wednesday Morning All,

Well today is time for another 10k run. My VDH burned a little CD for me with all my favorite running songs and then used his CD label maker and a picture of me running on Burner on the top of the CD to decorate it. It’s sooo cute I feel famous seeing myself as the picture on the CD. Talk about motivation to run to.

Debbie

Hey everyone!

Welcome Amanda! Yep its a great group!

Debbie what a great hubby - great idea with the CD.

I really think spring will NEVER come this year... anyone else thinking about moving - I swear if I didnt have school age kids I'd be soooo out of the Northeast!

Hope everyone is doing well - I'm doing a low key week - kinda a tad higher than a week off and a week of not clean eating! Figure I deserve a week of it!

Well have a great week everyone -- probably see you next week - after my mini vacation from intense working out!

Good day everybody! Hope you are enjoying your strong bodies today!

Hey! Just finished Cardio&Weights. We are leaving first thing in the morning – so I’ve got to get my act together and finish the packing. I know you’ll miss me deeply . . .:p

Hi all!

Today was my scheduled rest day aka clean the house day, but had to switch it up a bit. MIL called bright(well, not so bright) but definately early yesterday to tell us she was sick again. So, yesterday was spent with her at various Dr's and then back to the hospital. So, today was my cardio day. Stepfit, my favorite. Well, except for those power scissors.

Debbie, what a cute idea your VDH had. Music is so motivating. I listened to Rachmaninoff while driving today. I could really feel the Russian countryside - just like in Dr. Zhivago. Don't think I would want to exercise to it though.

Amanda, so glad you've joined us. I hope the weather gets better for all of you snowy gals soon. Hate to tell you but it was 78 here today. Muggy already though.

Fitdoc, have a great trip! What fun!

Hi to all,

Gloria

Hi All -- An early morning post from me.

We were planning dinner at a fancy restaurant for our anniversary but the weather didn't cooperate. Freezing rain here in Cincinnati kept us closer to home -- dinner at our favorite Mexican place. Cheap but good. Works for me. We'll go to the other place later.

Bought myself a reward for finishing the costumes. Karen Voight's Yoga Sculpt DVD. Did it last night. It's just her leading the moves, no class behind her. Enjoyed it greatly. I can definitely feel it in the thighs and abs today.

Gloria -- Sorry your MIL is sick again. Positive vibes to you both.

Debbie -- What a cute idea your DH had! He's very creative!

Fitdoc -- Bon Voyage!

Waves to everyone else!

Juli

Good Morning, I did S & H chest and back this morning and then ran out of time so I will do my cardio tonight(hopefully:) ) I am not so good at sticking to the PM workouts.

Gloria where do you live? i need to move there! :)

I have a question for all of you. I have now read a few things in these forums where people talk about being so hungry during the intensity series that they actual eat more and gain weight. Is this true? I was going to start this series in 4 weeks to try and lose more weight and now I am worried. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks
Amanda
