Hello Ladies,
Happy Tuesday to you all. It’s a beautiful day here on the ranch, the birds are singing and the air is fresh. It is lightly sprinkling right now so everything smells so fresh. This is horsey running weather, they love to run and romp when it is just lightly raining, I can see their breath fogging out of their noses as they run around. It is so green here and the flowers are starting to sprout up. It’s fascinating to see how the flowers that just appear grow in patches of white, yellow, orange or violet all on their own. When we were first up here looking at property we were shown another ranch that was all groomed, ya know with manicured fields cleared areas with roads and fencing, graveled roadways, flower beds planted and arranged just so. But being able to just watch the seasons change and grow independent of each other any ways that is natural is so much more beautiful and exciting to us. When I take Stolz on walks around on our trail paths I can see the little seedlings that dropped from the oak trees by the thousands and now they are all open and stretching with little sprouts twisting and turning looking for some place to catch hold of so they can grow and flourish. To think that I would miss that if we kept it all groomed and tailored. Have I mentioned how I love our ranch lately? We closed on this place at the end of last March and moved in the first weekend of April. I can’t believe it has already been that long. It still feels a couple of weeks ago that we left the city life to live here on this mountain. Boy talk about time flying. Okay enough day dreaming.
Today is PUB, yesterday I got my 4 mile run in and I’m working on making those a little faster. I would like to think that I could run the LA Marathon myself next year but we’ll see. Hey it’s something to focus on. I know that my measly little 18 miles a week is not enough right now, but I am getting a 6 mile run in every 4 run now. I just don’t want to increase to quickly though, I understand that it takes a good 6 months before your body gets used to the weekly pounding of regular runs. I have gone through this all before, albeit it has been a hundred or more years ago.
Any ways I have a plan and I will stick to it. I’m stronger now than I used to be when I ran all the time, thanks to my Cathe w/o’s. It will be nice when the ground isn’t so muddy and I can take some of my runs outside. I do put Burner on a incline of 1.5 to 2.5 to simulate a little elevation. Yikes am I chatty today or what? Okay I’m going to go now.
Have a nice day all,
Debbie
Amanda- Welcome on board. Congrats on the inches lost. Hey I’m a June bride too the 6th. It will be 24 years this coming June. I married my best friend and lover and he is the most wonderful person that I know. My current rotation is a run/strength thing right now. Although I change my mind often. Any ways welcome.
Juli- Congrats on your wedding anniversary any special plans?
Michelle- Have fun on your trip and be careful. Dh and I are planning a Hawaii week for June right now. It will be nice to be so healthy and able to do all the fun things that I’m now in shape enough to do. Have fun. Hey who is going with you?
Otisan- Have you guys done the Bright Angel trail before? Your trip sounds like fun.
FS- I was thinking I needed another b-bell too. I get a cardio in just trying to switch my plates quickly on PLB. I try and challenge myself to keep up with Cathe and the girls pace on the plate changes. That’s hard to do. I had those little ring collars on my bar but had to go get this clips instead to make it quicker.
Gloria- I hear you on the plant thing. When I was a little girl walking home from the bus stop one day I found a very little century plant that I took home and planted in our yard with a tablespoon. That plant now is soooo huge it must weigh close to a thousand pounds and is at least 10 feet in diameter. Remember we are talking about AZ so this is a huge succulent cacti. It broke my heart to leave it. I drive by when I’m in town just to see it. You were right to take that rose bush.
Hello to all my other transformers…………..
