Transformation Challenge 3/17-3/23

Warm hello's to everyone!

A quick check in before I retire. Tonight I wanted to do a cardio tape with some "easy" legs thrown in, so I did the Wedding tape along with legs & abs. That portion with the step turned lengthwise is tough, tough, tough, but thanks to CTX I can do the power moves much easier. Tomorrow I'm back to the PS series, doing BBA.

Have a great evening, all! See you tomorrow (and it's Friday :))

Hi Everyone -- I have just a few minutes before I head out to work. I spent too much time watching the war coverage last night and only did 30 minutes of yoga for my w.o. That counts in one of the boxes for the SELF Challenge but it's less than what I usually do. I guess something is always better than nothing.

Fitdoc -- speaking of exercise and depression, I work with a guy who used to talk about feeling depressed on a regular basis. About two years ago, he started doing martial arts with his son three times a week. Now he's one of the most positive people I know. I sure wish I could get my family members to even walk. I know they'd feel better. My mother and brother both have severe problems with obesity and depression.

Janice -- We had the severe thunderstorm warnings, too. But it seemed silly! It was a beautiful sunny day! Nothing happened.

Gloria -- Lucky girl! I wish I had started the game earlier. It has so many terms and rules, it's like learning a whole new dialect.

Gotta run --

Juli

Hi! And happy spring!
Hope you are all doing wonderful.
Janice, regarding Joyce's tapes or dvds, I would say, if you like slower moves, Bottoms up Gold series is good. The slowness allows you to lift heavier. If you like faster ones, then the definition series is good. But it's hard to lift very heavy with this one because of the speed. It's some how hard to say "good" with Joyce's taped w/o!! Her forms are wrong in many exercises, but that wouldn't be much problem, because doing Cathe's and Firm and FP, you know the forms quite well. I hardly even look at the screen when I exercise with her. Her offers are so expensive, BUT there is NO question in my mind that her exercises works. The pyramid system and the fastness of the routine are amazing in definig the muscles and leaning them out. So if you like results, but don't care about the quality of her forms, then I highly suggest them. She has a good personality in her tapes. Very homy and kind, I like her. (I've heard she can be quite the opposite when ones deal with her directly!!!)
Now, if you like to see how really her system works for you, you might want to try one of her books like definition, bottoms up gold, or fat burning for one month. The libraries usually carry some of her books or other option would be amazon.com or half.com where they sell them for $3, $4 !!! Her books are planned quite well with great exercises.

Warm hellos to everyone.

I am doing lower body today, pobably leaner legs and lower body pilates.

Have a wonderful day.
:)

I echo Bita in wishing everyone a happy spring! About time, yes?

Tonight's workout is PS BBA. I'm so happy, I just received my S&H series & Rhythmic Step Plus today! It only took two days. I can't wait to preview them, I feel like I need another cardio day this week, so I'm going to attempt IMAX.

Juli, it sounds like you're doing well on the Self Challenge. Keep up the great work!

Gloria, good luck with your DS getting his wisdom teeth out. I'm sure you'll learn to puree all his favorite meals :)

Weekend greetings to everyone!

Hi everyone! I havent been on in a couple of days.

Hi Juli, Gloria, Bita, FS, Debbi, Otisan, Fitdoc, Wildpony, golden girl

Happy 1st day of spring :) even in MA the snow is almost melted. Sounds like not case in CO.

Let's see this week I've done S&H (Leg and Shoulder, Chest and Back), Imax (2 times) YUCK that means tomorrow I have to do S&H tricep/bicep and a cardio :(

Have a great weekend all :)

I found out I'm still in the running for one job, have an interview for another next week and just got a nibble on another today :)

May we all have great energy and great workouts :)

Today's workout was 30 minutes of FIRM cardio. It's back-to-back night shifts. DS left for Boston. I'll be sleep deprived tomorrow but I'll have a few days off!

Have a great weekend all:D

(Good luck with those interviews Robyn):)

Hi Everyone -- A morning post for me today before I start working on my proposal for work. Last night DH and I did Vol. 3. My DH isn't too crazy about that one -- says it's too dancy. He stopped after thirty minutes but I completed the whole thing.

Robyn -- Best of luck on your job interviews! Things always work out at the time they're supposed to work out.

Fitdoc -- I'll bet you had a great time with your DS. How's school going for him?

Otisan -- Sounds like the wedding arrangements are falling into place.

My prayers are with all of you who have sons/daughters/friends in Iraq. My brother and BIL were both involved in Desert Storm. It's so scarey to think of loved ones in possible combat. I always felt that we didn't finish the job at Desert Storm and so now, 12 years later, we have to go back.

My best to all --

Juli

Hi! Hope your Saturday is wonderful so far.

fitdoc, seems like one week with your DS home flew by!! I am sure you enjoyed your time together tremendously.

Warm hellos to everyone.

I did Imax today and some pilates.

Got to get back to work.
Have a great night.

Hey y'all!

Today may end up as a rest day. I'm so worn out from the two overnight shifts - DH is on call all weekend (so disappeared in to the depths of the hospital). C'est la vie!

Must . . . get . . . some . . . sleep:eek:

Hey All,

Well I haven’t been checking in at all lately because of my current feelings and focus. I am one of those people glued to the TV watching CNN or MSNBC 24 hours a day. Personal opinions aside about the war I have these feelings that I need to be aware of what is constantly going on. I have been getting in my w/o’s and done a couple of other things as needed. All in all though I feel that my everyday life needs to be paying a certain homage to the individuals that find themselves far away in another country fighting for what they believe is their duty to preserve my frivolous way of life. Maybe these are left over feelings because my brother was in Vietnam in the early stages. At any rate if I’m not checking in or seem distant these are the reasons why. I Just thought I should let you all know.

Debbie

Michelle- The microderabrasion was for acne for dd, she unfortunately inherited Ma's skin. She only needed the two treatments and is looking so beautiful. She's all peaches and cream again now. Thanks for asking. :)

Hi all,

Ditto to what Debbie said. Sitting in church this morning was just plain eerie. I kept seeing the scenes of soldiers laying on their stomachs and shooting at people to protect people like me from terrorism. Or, maybe they were just trying to save their own skin. Whatever their reason, they're in harms way along with many innocent Iraqis. I don't know what I would have done if I were in charge. Maybe this is what has to happen but, I hate war, and I hate the fact that our young people especially are having to go through this. I just keep praying for them all. If you're so inclined, please send up one for a young man in the 101st Airborne named Josh. I've never met him but he's a good friend of my neice's and our family feels like we've adopted him. He was to finish his 4 years in April, but said he couldn't send his guys over there without him. He's 26, a graduate of Colorado State Univ. and wants to open an Italian restaurant when he gets home. He was baptised in Afghanistan when he was stationed there fighting the Taliban. He was not looking forward to going back. Anyway, I don't want to start anything political. I'm just concerned for all involved like I'm sure the rest of us are.

As for exercise, I got in my 5 workouts this week. Finishing with PS L&A yesterday and All Step today. I played nurse to DS Friday after he had his wisdom teeth out. I don't think he was expecting to be so miserable. He's playing golf today, so he's feeling much better.

Tomorrow starts my S&H rotation. Long workouts! Talk to you all later.

Gloria

(Courage is fear that has said its prayers)

Today I did the Pyramid upper and lower "bonus" combo, then added the stability work from PUB. (I forgot that the stability work should be done first!) Great workout!

I know how you feel Gloria and Debbie. I've been watching the news. I understand the arguments from both sides. It certainly is a complicated situation. Either way - I'm praying for us all - sort of that "God Bless Us Everyone" from Dickens.
