Can I ask a question ?

My son just joined a gym and he wants to lift weights , but has tendonitis in his shoulder. It flares up a LOT and since his job is heavy lifting he can't follow doctors advice and rest it.
He is asking ME to give him a workout plan and I keep telling him he needs someone who knows more about his injury ......but he wants me to do it.
I have no idea. Could someone tell me what exercises he should avoid and what is okay for him to do . Are there any exercises that build up the area around so he can protect his injury?
Also , for someone interested mainly in building muscle- which type workout is the best ? Split workouts ?

Thanks in advance !

Rotator cuff exercises are great for strengthening the shoulder without causing further harm. They use them in PT. These will help his shoulder and, hopefully, get him in a position where he can do more delt work. I would tell him to avoid any lifting above his head and only do lateral raises with his arms bent and light weights.

I know we have some PTs on this forum! Correct me if I'm wrong girls!
