Totally unrelated to fitness

Came home tonight and there was a small timber rattle curled up on my front porch!!!!!! To make it worse, my husband is out of town tonight. I killed it with a shovel, with my heart in my throat the whole time. I was terrified it would bite my dog or worse my daughter! Is there anything you can put out in your yard to keep snakes away. I still have the willies! What if my daughter had run up on the porch ahead of me. What if there are more where that one came from. It was a baby, I'm sure, I hope it doesn't have any brothers or sisters. Ahhhh, I'm freaked!!!!!!!

OMG,Thankgodness you did find it first! And ^^^5's on getting rid of it(I don't think I could have)as far as getting rid of snakes,I live on a lake and we get mocasins alot,I put moth balls around the premitor(sp)of my house and underneath aswell,it seems to work pretty good! We do have alot of ducks that i've witness,kill snakes and hawks too! I called my local hardware store to find out about the moth balls! Maybe somebody else will have some more suggestions!

There are snakes in my neighborhood although I live in the city, the previous owners put gravel/stone chips around my house to keep those critters away. Also, it helps to keep their food source away too like mice and moles, and there are natural ways to do this without using peticides.

How Scary, I hate snakes! There are lots of natural snake repelling granuales on the market that for some reason snakes do not like to slither across. I included a link below for a example, HTH.

Yikes!

Don't have any first-hand experience, but when my grandmother was 85 and living alone, she killed a moccasin with a hoe and a can of Raid!!! Just a thought, if you're in a pinch!
