Total Gym ?

I saw this infomercial for Total gym ultra with the tricep dip bars and it looked good. So I did some research and a lot of buyers seem to like it, even the most basic 1000 model that first came out. The really top of the line stuff is expensive but looks much better even though the basic premise is the same. The really good stuff actually has a platform so you could do squats properly.
Anyway, does anyone actually own one? How do you like it? I was really tempted only because some of the testimonials said it really improved their breasts ( as far as gravity is concerned ) and it did look like it would be a good back workout ... getting kind of bored with single arm rows and you don't have much options with back exercises if you workout at home.

I don't have a Total Gym, but I DO have a Total Trainer (very similar to the TG) which I got on e-bay for $299.00 plus shipping. I really like it, but I must preface this by saying that my ex-husband had a Total Gym, so I knew what to expect. It folds up, which is very important to me, and you can do tons of exercises on it, AND add weight plates. You can do chin-ups and pull-ups on it, too.

Two thumbs up.

I had one a few years ago and gave it to my father-in-law after just a few months. It is adjustable for different intensity levels. I found I got very little out of it. The model I had I bought at a sporting goods store and you used your own body weight for resistance. You couldn't add weights to it to increase difficulty. I was disappointed in it. IMHO Cathe tapes provides a much better resistance work-out.

I bought a Total Gym a few years ago and returned it while I still could. It was $1000 anyway!!!

I found it was way too easy - if you are used to Cathe tapes, you may find the same thing.

I also found the switching between excercises took way too long. And it didn't fold up easily for storage.

Just my opinion....
