Total Body Workout in 30 Minutes -

Hi Cathe,
I'm new to step and would like to try one of your DVDs. I currently do light aerobics (treadmill, walking) and light weightlifting using hand weights.

Do you have a DVD you can recommend that would give me a total body workout (aerobics and strength) in around 30 minutes? Again, I'm new to step so it should be very basic.

Thanks!

Hi!

Not Cathe, but thought I would recommend the Low Impact Step & Total Body Sculpting DVD. I am just getting back into working out after a long break and I really enjoyed starting out with that DVD. There are some great basic step moves and a great quick workout with weights that also utilizes the stability ball. I particularly like some of the squats with the stability ball where you raise the ball in the air. There are also some good premixes that clock in at just slightly more than 30 minutes (if I recall).

I think you would really enjoy this DVD.

You could also do any of the premixes. Most are like 30 minutes,or just the step or just the blasts, or do 25 minutes and cool down and stretch for 5.When I am pressed I will cut out the 3rd set on the reps and forward to the next one. They are chaptered so it takes you right to the next one.
Check out the video clips. They are pretty long. When I get a new one I will get a new dvd I get on the treadmill and review it. Time goes faster.

Hi Cnoji! Nice to have you join in our forums. I would recommend my more basiic workouts first so that it is easier for you to catch on to the moves.

I don't have anything that totals just 30 minutes but you can just do as much or as little of these workouts that you have time for. Also, each of the workouts have premixes so you can find a premix that may have a shorter option.

My suggestions are the following DVD's:

Low Impact Step (complete with a step workout, a sculpting workout, and premixes combining both workouts)

Basic Step and Body Fusion all one one DVD. Basic step is a solid and easy to learn step aerobic routine. Body Fusion is a 50 minute combination of step aerobics and hand weights. An as always, there are premixes with these workouts that will provide numerous other workout options (some shorter, some longer, some harder, some just different).

Cardio and Weights DVD....There are two workouts on this DVD however, for now I would only recommend doing cardio and weights and then save Imax 2 for down the road when you have gotten much more familiar with my style. Pop it in while folding laundry for some entertainment for now ;-)

You might also want to try the Cross Train Express series all on one DVD. These workouts are a bunch of short cardio workouts (averaging 30 to 35 minutes) with focus on one muscle group after the cardio. The thought process is to use them for the whole week so that by the end of the week you have worked every body part. This series is more advanced than those listed above though.

Good luck!
