Cathlete
Hi fitness friends! I just added a new program under the Video/Dvd rotations section under Francine's various rotations! The program was inspired by Cathe's new cd,incorporating a bodybar,dumbells,step/bosu and BTR,!(I love this cd and had to share this workout with you all) Hope you have as much fun as I do! http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php

bosu

Hey Sherry! I'll have more ideas for you when I come back from the bosu workshop(6/8 in AC), do you have any questions you want me to ask Douglas Brooks or Rob Glick? Or anyone else who owns a bosu! Post here or Email me at [email protected] ! Also if you checked out the bosu substitutions for the stationary lunges you could also do a one legged squat facing the bosu or turn around from the bosu and put your one leg behind you for a lunge!(just an added thought;)

RE: bosu

Hi Francine!! I love my Bosu, but I posted last week that I have absolutely no creativity when it comes to thinking of things on my own!:) I'm more interested in what type of weight work to do since I do very little cardio. How much weight do you think is safe to use on the Bosu? I can't wait til you get back from your workshop and post all the neat stuff you learned. What exactly does it take to get Bosu certified?

RE: bosu

Hey Sherry! I got my bosu at christmas and the weights that I have been using on it are dumbells ,bodybar, medicine ball, handirons ,ankle weights, and weighted vest/shorts! I personally keep the weight no more than 12lbs on the bodybar ,and when I'm using my dumbells for upperbody only(not combining any other movements) I'll just focus on what my rep max is and do my sets! I'm very experimental and with the bosu ,it does intimidate me to push my limits with the weights since the main focus is stability! Once I master the skills that I have and get some more knowledge under my belt, you'll be sure to see some bosu programs from me;)! As for the certification, the only pre-requesite is to be a personal trainer or a group fitness instructor! The course is from 9 am to 2! There will be a practical and a written! Then they also have a Master Trainer certification available!I'm soo excited, the whole weekend will be slamming! It's a fitness conference that they have every year by AAAI. You can check out there website to see if there's a conference near you! http://www.aaai-ismafitness.com/conf.htm Since we are on the subject of Bosu, have you tried cardio kicks on the bosu yet? Fun stuff! The second part is the best for the bosu, when you are into arm drills stand on the bosu, close your eyes and really give it your all. You are stabilizing your core soo much , it really works the abs extra hard! Give it a whirl! Take care Bosu Buddy ;) I'll keep you posted!
