Too Much Water

I read about this too. I think I read about it in a magazine though. I didn't know there was such a thing either.
 
I had no idea about this either. I know the years I have run distance, especially in the hot summer the focus has always been in dehydration. In the marathons I run you have to be careful about the water sometimes. But for another reason. I got nasty stomach cramps once in San Jose during a marathon after drinking the tap water that tasted funny....BIG mistake. I carry my own water/sports drink and have a timer set on my watch for 15 minutes. I usually sip my liquids every 15 minutes. So far, so good....thanks Pinky for this link...:)...Carole
 
I am familiar with this condition and I think it's important to remember that (1) it's extremely rare and (2) excess water is only a concern for people who are exercising for very long periods of time (eg, marathon runners). I know we have some marathoners on this board (and boy I sure do admire them - I couldn't do that in a million years!). But most of us are not at any risk of taking in too much water during our Cathe workouts and such. So keep on drinkin'! :D
