Tony Horton Workouts

Hey All:

Just wondering if anyone has heard of any new Tony Horton workouts on the horizon, and also if there are any I'm not aware of. I know of P90x (of course) Power 90 and then Power 1/2 hours. Anything else?

Sparrow, I think a member here, Mspina went to the Sept fitness camp and asked about future workouts. For now I think there are no Tony Horton workouts in the works. But he did get a few suggestions to fill up the P90X folder since it has 3 empty spots. HTH.

I thought there was a P90 Masters series? Kathryn I believe liked at least one of the 4(?) workouts...
 
I have the P90 Masters workouts. I like them all, except for Core Cardio, which I'm rather lukewarm about.

Sculpt 5-6 is a nice, total-body (with emphasis on the upper body) weight workout. There is also a Cardio Intervals workout (with very basic, athletic moves, increasing in intensity), a Cardio 5-6 workout (with some plyo moves), UML (upper-middle-lower, a body-weight total body workout...the only one I haven't tried yet), and Plyo Legs (some moves from Plyo X, with some from Legs and Back, with some tweaked and new moves...it makes a great partner to Sculpt 5-6, and I like to do one the day after the other).
 
Yep I was on a Tony chat tonight and yep no new work outs for Tony on the horizon :( He said if he had his way, he would do them every few months. Right now they are focusing on getting the X word out.

I've done 2 of MS as doubles core cardio and cardio intervals I like them quiet a bit. I do like Tony more in X. I know some people think he is a bit too competitive in the lifting videos, personally I like that - reminds me of the good old days at the gym!

Kathryn once I'm done with X I may do a MS rotation.
 
Robyn: if you ever chat with Tony again, tell him his P90X fans are clamoring for 3-4 DVD's to fill in those empty spots in our folder (the 4th spot is from replacing the "How to Bring it" DVD). Okay, maybe not ALL his P90X fans, but a good number. Or maybe just me. But that should be enough (and it's a good idea, isn't it? LOL!)

I envision a new upper body split (maybe something innovative like non-overlapping muscles: chest shoulder--had to fit it in somewhere--and biceps + back and triceps)which takes 2 DVD's, a new Ab Ripper (doesn't even need it's own DVD, since it can be on the DVD's with the weight workouts!), a lower body workout using weights (that's DVD 3) and a new, more intense Kenpo X (maybe "X to the max"? or would that be a Tony/Cathe collaboration?)
 
Good points Kathryn! I know what you mean about those empty slots.

Ok I have my first not great p90x experience on the chat. I had a fitness related question - specifically for doubles - are CC and CI good to take the place of Cardio X. I got a yes and no and then he asked the timing. Then a couple of women pounced on him - hitting on him etc :( sigh so

I probably sound like a dinosaur and am too focused on fitness but I was so disapointed. All I really got out of the chat was he is single/engaged, one woman thinks about him every day, another wants her to visit him. Not really what I signed in for :(

Maybe the mailbag is better.

Anyhow I'm on week 8 :) we've got a thread that is rocking. I think we are at post 450! So awesome Deanamax oldfirmie GAFitPeach Shelley are all doing it! Woo hoo!

I'm doing the recovery week - just don't really like it! I've been kinda grumpy because I MISS CST and BB and PyloX! I'm trying to get the right mind set for recovery and DONT have it yet!

Women on the chat spend their time hitting on TH? If you are a disnosaur I am too, cause that strikes me as "Ew" worthy.

At this point I'd pretty much sell my soul for more P90x workouts. I may just have to do the doubles rotation or slim. Bums me out though, I am worried that I might lose my gains if I go off the regular rotation. :(

Post a question to his mailbag - this is a GREAT one for him, and I'm sure he'll answer it. Give it a few weeks though - I posted one about 2 weeks ago, and thought I didn't get chosen. But I just noticed today that my question was answered!

And totally horrible about your chat experience - that's ridiculous.

But, he's ENGAGED? Really?!? I'm only shocked because at camp he was talking to his sister about how he wanted this to be THE YEAR, but at the time, he wasn't dating anyone - he was asking her for help!

i would like to see him do a kickboxing workout though it doesnt seem like he's really into cardio-mostly upper and core.

Thanks Michelle - I did try the mailbag and yep I saw your question :) cool!

I guess the chat thing bothered me a lot because it was the VIP one and I was expecting a lot more. I wasn't the only one who thought it. Yep one woman asking him to visit her in NH, another saying she thinks about him everyday, ugh! Dave also suggested the Steve Edwards chat or the mailbag! I haven't done chat rooms in ages - but still it was bad. I have to figure out where to give that feedback :( one of the folks on the thread I post to is cancelling her membership to the premium club. I do love the DVDs though!

I'm having a NOT great week with recovery. I post to you on beach body.com for words of wisdom! I really dislike it. My faves are plyoX, BB, CST so toay I did no workout (was suppose to be xstretch) I'm thinking I may say today was day 7 rather than day 4 and start week 9 tomorrow. I'll have to see. I was hoping to chat about recovery week too :(

I saw your post on my thread and responded. Go read it. :)

I'm getting close to bagging my premium membership. I never do those chats, as the ones I did participate in were SO hard to follow, and so full of random nonsense ... just not worth the time, not by a longshot. And I don't use the meal plan feature - I do think that it could be incredibly valuable for some, but I'm feeling really quite all set in that department, so I don't need it. I'm only keeping the membership for the access to Tony's blog and weekly mailbag, which I really do enjoy.... But how much do I enjoy it? I don't know.

We are certainly in the glory days of fall this week, aren't we? Today is spectacular - I love the cooler weather, when it's sunny and crisp out. So beautiful.

Hang in there with your recovery week! I'll be over soon enough, then you hit Phase III. Trust me, you'll be SPENT by the end - 4 alternating weeks, if you are really bringing it each day, is TIRING. I was so beat by the end. In a good way, but definitely BEAT. Enjoy the rest - you need it. :)
