Tony Hawk's BoomBoom HuckJam!

Yes, I feel absolutely ridiculous using the term: Boom Boom HuckJam, but we'll get past that.

I bought tickets to this for my teenage son and I. It's a skateboard/dirt bike event that's touring the US currently. I must say I am looking forward to seeing it. The feats these kids perform on skateboards are nothing less than astonishing. (Let's hope Cathe NEVER finds out about 'em, could be her newest exercise "torture" for us.)

Anyway, if anyone has been to this or has anything to tell me about it that would be great. It's hard to find "positive focus" events for boys to enjoy. This is WAY better than a heavy metal music concert.

Also, I found out that Tony Hawk is (get this) 36 YEARS OLD! I thought he was just a kid. Had to rub this fact in my son's nose. Nasty Mom.

I haven't been to the "BoomBoom HuckJam" (that may be the funniest thing I've ever typed), but I've seen skating and dirt bike exhibitions at Warped Tour (which is a day long punk show with a ton of bands, sponsored by Vans, the skate shoe company). Anyway, it's really, really amazing to see these people in person! It's unbelievable enough when you see them on TV, but it's so much more real when you're right there. I can't imagine how cool it would be to see Tony Hawk - and I'm not even into skating. You must be getting bonus points for being such a fun mom. :)

Hey, my non-Packer Backer friend! I hope I do get plenty of bonus points. I am excited :-jumpy I think it will be awesome.

Now, I may have this wrong, but are you the punk music enthusiast? I think so. Anyway, I've been hearing this new Nirvana release. It's so great to hear something new from them. I can't wait for that Nirvana's GH CD to be released. Wouldn't it be cool if we could choose our own music to "Cathe" to?;-)

Julie

Yeah, I'm the punk rock girl. :) I just saw the video for the Nirvana single today. It was kind of surreal how they used all these video clips of Kurt Cobain singing other songs, but they chose ones that make it seem like he's singing that song... it's really cool, but just weird to watch. I'm definitely looking forward to that release, too!

And I must confess, I sometimes turn down the volume of videos that I know really well and throw on my own CDs. It gives it a whole new twist. ;)
