Toning

I am 5'1" and weigh 134 pounds. I had a baby in 2004 and lost twice the weight that I gained. I am happy with my weight, would like to lose a few more pounds but really want to tone. I inherited a lot of muscle from my father's side of the family:) so I certainly don't want to gain muscle. My workout habit's have been bad but we just bought a treadmill and have been walk/jogging a few times and have tried your beginner's dvd that comes in the step box. I really enjoy it! Can you give me some pointers on what to work on? I am really wanting to focus on my lower body. My upper body isn't so much of a concern but my butt and thighs are really lacking anymore. I"m not happy with them.

Hi Kcrum! You are already doing exactly what you should be doing, starting off at a gradual pace and slowly increasing the intensity as to not invite unnecessary injury or strain.

Since you have my beginner workout tapes, take a peek at the rotation I have designed for them. This will be a nice balance of fat burning and overall body toning.
