For too many years I only used tofu in asian dishes but have finally branched out. Silken tofu (comes in a box on the shelf w/o refrigeration) is great for smoothies. A wonderful way to ease into tofu is buying baked tofu. It's already cooked & seasoned. Chop cubes into salads or stir-frys of any type. It also makes great sandwich filling as a meat substitute. I get it at a health food store. Any of Deborah Madision's cookbooks will give you plenty of ideas. Tofu is naturally very bland so it does need to be "doctored."
