Had my eye on the Tracie Long Training series for ages and I finally caved and purchased all 4 on sale from totalfitnessdvds. But now I have no idea what to do with them! They are just so different from traditional workouts -- how do you fit them in a rotation? how do you categorize them?

thanks for any ideas you have on these.

You might want to go over to the VF forums and ask this question. I'm not sure how many people here on Cathe's forum do TLT's. Here's the link:

Wendy,
I see a few ways to use them:
1) during a 'recovery and prehab' week in a rotation (the workouts hit some of the muscles that are often not focused on in regular weight workouts: smaller supporting muscles so crucial for injury prevention). Do 2-3 of these spaced out during the week, with some stretching and mild cardio on other days

2) in conjunction with other workouts, once a week

3) as a 2-4 week rotation

thanks for your responses!

JennieR, i actually wanted to post this on VF and couldnt figure out how! im registered over there (same username) and have lurked for years. now when i finally want to post it gives me a message that says

i have searched the forums and dont see a way to activate my acct or my privileges. i also dont see a way to contact an administrator at all. can you help? i have actually wanted to post over there a few times recently.

kathryn, i prob get the best from these as their own rotation with added cardio. however, i am dying to try them and since i am starting to see results with my current rotation, i think your second option would work best for me right now. my current rotation looks something like this:

mon - spin
tues - total body strength/endurance
wed - cardio dance
thurs - total body strength/endurance (and yoga, if time)
fri - step
sat - kickbox and total body strength/endurance
sun - rest

any thoughts on which ones could fit in on which days?

Wendy, I checked over on the VF and didn't see you as a registered member. You might want to try and register again using a different user name. After you've registered you might need to check your email and click on a link that they provide you. I hope that works for you.

I haven't done them for a while, but I'd recommend just subbing one of them per week for the second "total body strength/endurance" workout. They definitey fit there more than in any other spot, IMO.
