TLT and knees!

Okay, I tried one of the TLTs from Netflix... the one that mixed lite cardio with toning segments (Endurance for movement). Well, this morning my right knee is so sore... and I really didn't feel like I got that great a workout. (I don't get knee pain like this after an Imax) Maybe it's the torgue (sp) on some of the moves, I don't know. But thought I'd put this out there for those of you with touchy knees, who thought (like me) this would be a knee-friendly workout. Guess I'll be sending this one back sooner than I thought.:(

I find that there are a lot of moves in TLT that are actually very helpful for knee stability, IF done correctly: in front of a mirror, making sure that the knee doesn't buckle inward (especially). The 1-legged squats, for example.

I don't recall a lot of torque (with a 'q'), but if there is that potential, it can definitely cause problems, especially if you workout on carpet. Also, doing some of the moves 1/2 time might help, if it's hard to get good placement when following their speed.

You know, maybe my problem IS form. My right knee seems to bother me the most... the same side as my pretty much chronic hip/lower back pain issues... so perhaps the two are connected? I found the move where you're down in a lunge that's so low one knee is actually touching the ground, then you kinda sweep up into a knee high, especially hard. I think it's time to google knee-friendly workouts.

Delfin, let us know if you find anything good in terms of knee friendly workouts. I am always on the lookout for these type of workouts.

I can't answer the knee issue you are having except to say, as everyone else has, watch that form. When I first got the TLT's, I didn't feel like I was working that hard either, b/c of the learning curve. Now that I know the workouts and how to execute the moves, I work hard while feeling great at the same time! I think these are great workouts for cross training! I hope your knee feels better soon!

Hi! I am not crazy about this workout. I always loved Tracie Long in the Firm, but was disappointed with TLT. I'd so much rather do Cathe or an older Firm than this one. Although I did not have knee problems like you, this workout just didn't feel right. Maybe my form was off, or something,I don't know. Regardless, this workout just was not enjoyable or particularly challenging for me. Just wanted to give my input. Take care, Nancy J.~~~
