Does anyone have this channel? Last night I started watching a story called "Jackies story" the 627 lbs women. It was so sad.She was so out of shape.She couldn't walk and she cried b/c she couldn't get into the van.She was on her way to the hospital to have her stomach stapled.She lost weight rapidly but had alot of complications.And she was such a sweet lady.
Then "The 1/2 ton man" came on.DH said...TLC really puts alot of thought into their titles don't they?
In this guys situation...he weighed 1072 lbs and he didn't think that he ate anymore then anyone else.They had to beat a wall out of his house and remove him with a forklift.He thought he was over weight b/c of his genes.He was so big that his body was crushing his lunges and he couldn't breath.The Dr. put him on a diet, he lost 500 lbs and then he had surgery but when he went home, he didn't really follow the rules and wasn't losing like he should have been.
In this story they also showed people who were obese,lost it and regained it.And up until then, I didn't realize that people were addicted to food like they can be to drugs or alcohol.I knew people over ate out of boredom,loniless or stress but I didn't really think of it as an addiction.
Its sad though b/c I don't even think about all of the people who are stuck in their homes b/c they can't get out.They are to big and can't even walk. My question is....who buys their groceries? Who brings them their food?
Just wondeirng if anyone else saw it. I was amazed...
