Advice for the stability ball...don't let it roll out from under you! Actually, it's not as hard to control as you think. The only time I had difficulty was when doing the pikes in KPC, and now that's not a problem.

It absolutely does help the core. I use it now for all the weight exercises that I did on the step/bench. If you get supersets or push/pull, there are a lot of stability ball exercises in it and they are very enjoyable.

I had a 55cm ball, but it seemed too small so my daughter gave me a 65cm for Christmas. I use the 55cm now as a chair when I go up for tea parties in my daughter's playroom. They are very comfy chairs.

Mmmmm....snickerdoodles. Aren't they the best cookies? Did you make them homemade? I haven't made those in a while, maybe they'll be my next batch.

To add more stability to your stability ball, keep your base wider: that is, keep your feet farther apart when sitting on th eball or lying on the ball. As your balance improves, you can move your feet closer together, until they are side-by-side. THEN you can add even more of a balance challege by lifing one foot off the ground.

Don't feet that you need to do the advanced moves that Cathe does to benefit from the ball. Some of the moves she does, like pikes, are VERY advanced, and should be worked up to.

Make sure that you have cleared enough of an area around you so that if you do fall, you won't hit your head on the edge of a table or fall on something sharp!

Also, keep your sense of humor when you do fall! Laughing is good for the ab muscles!

Hi Donna, yep they were homemade snickerdoodles and they have been a Holiday tradition in my home since i was a little girl, now as an adult i have learned that they are so good with coffee,i am so glad all the goodies are gone from my house now ,i swear i was starting to feel like the little girl that swelled up and had to be rolled away in the movie Willy Wonka ,LOL .

Hi Kathryn,i absolutely do keep my sense of humor when i am working out,in fact last week i had to stop because i was laughing so hard,i was doing CTX Kickbox for the first time and was kinda tired so when she got to those backfist things i caught mysself in the mirror and it was pitiful because in my mind i'm The Badest Buttkicker Chick doing Kickbox but in reality what i saw in the mirror was an annoyed looking women trying to shoo fly's away !! So needless to say i am not going to look in the miiror in more, i prefer seeing myself as Buttkicker Chick!

That could work as a self-defense technique: your opponent is so busy laughing that you have time to run away!
