Tiny bit of "tingling"

MarlaGaz

Cathlete
I noticed today near the end of my step workout (PowerMax) that my right foot (the ball of my foot) was a teeny bit tingly. No numbness, no pain, just a little tingling under there. It stopped very soon after I stopped stepping.

This used to happen when I was on my stair climber, but it happened much sooner and was much more tingly. I'm assuming it's a blood circulation "thing." Maybe the way I'm stepping down? Could it be my shoes?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Marla G.

RE: Tiny bit of

i could be way off base, but i have a similar problem every now and then. for me, it's because i had my shoe tied to tight across the arch of my foot and my toes were starting to tingle as if they were going numb. don't know if this is the same thing, but hope it helps.

RE: Tiny bit of

Hi Maddie,

Oh my gosh -- that could be it. I do tie my laces really tight. I'll loosen them up next time. This never happens when I do weight training -- just step (or stair climbing). But that makes sense. The action of the foot while stepping with tight laces could certainly be it.

Thanks, Maddie!

RE: Tiny bit of

Yeah, what Maddie said. I have this sometimes with the longer workouts. My middle toe sometimes falls asleep. I think it's because I sometimes tie my shoes too tight.

RE: Tiny bit of

Oh yes, I had this extensively when I began stepping, and in particular when I would buy a new pair of shoes. My feet would almost fall asleep half way through a cardio workout. I finally figured out it was all to do with how I tied the shoe. I had to experiment a bit, but it appears that, for my feet and my shoes, I need to keep the laces over the arch of my foot a bit looser. You need to play around a bit with loosening the lace tension over parts of your feet, to find what works best for you.

Cheers,
Sandra
