Time for a change...more weights.

Hi Everyone,
After a lot of soul searching and talking to you fine folks, I have decided to up my weight work out and decrease some of my cardio.
For me I spend most of my time doing cardio and now my ankles are not thanking me for it.
Last night I purchased the oxygen magazine, which as some really good articles in it and they are all about women of different shapes and sizes. But looking at these women also made me realize that this is what I want to look like.
In this issue there was even a article in it about how many calories you need per day, once you find out that part they also tell you how to lose 5 pounds, gain 5 pounds or stay right where you are.
For me this meant that I had to cut my calories to about 1800 which I don't even think I was getting anyway. So this issue was atreat for me cause I realized I should be eating more. And that that cookies really does matter.
So I just finished doing power hour.Upped my weights on the lunges and squat to 40 pounds...I waas using 30 before.Didn't up my chest cause I have problems withmy lungs enlarging, upped my shoulders and upped by biceps tp 25 pounds on barbell.
This was a challenging work out and I did sweat. So ,I am so motivated to change my work out.I have been doing cardio for so long and just a little bit of weights when I had that time. Now my body is going to get a rude a wakening, it is time for a change.

What did the article say? It sounds like a good one. I agree and have recently upped my weight work too. But PH for me is a tough one. I can match Cathe's weight selections on other tapes, but I am much better at strength training than endurance. The first time I did PH I thought, 15 lbs for biceps? That seems so light! HAH! I am burning after that segment and my 15 lb. barbell seems so much heavier than it really is! Congratulations on tuning into you body and making a change!

Hi Jillybean,
I bought an oxygen mag before and it was crap.So I went to the mall last night and wanted to buy a magazine and the articles in this one seemed really good, so I am assuming since the last time I bought this mag they have changed some things or else I have become interested in different things.
You basiclly have to add this and times this and subtract this. Now if you want I can type it all out for you or you could just give me your hieght, weight and age.And tell me how active you are and I could do the math.It is pretty tricky.
I have also learned from this magazine that it does matter if you eat that cookie .I just thought that if you included those calories into your total daily intake that you would still benefit. But you wouldn't beleive how many times it says "you are what you eat".Which is so true,I just thougt a calorie is a calorie. And it talks alot about clean eating.
But you would not beleive how sore I am from my work out and it's not tomorrow yet.Anyway, it is great to feel the work out I just did.Normally i d on't so it must have been time for a change.
anyway get back to me on that
lori
