Thursday Peep-o-rama

Morning Peepsters. Today's plans include a cardio workout and lots of puttering in the kitchen. I'm going to make some cranberry bread and freeze it for Thanksgiving. I have some zucchini that needs to be turned into bread too. Wendy, I'm going to try that butternut squash bisque for dinner today. Gotta run. Taa.

Hi Peeps,

I hope everyone has had a great week. I am feeling better emotionally and DS has been physically better since we got home. I had to take a few days to recover from that. I missed everyone and all the goings on in Peepville.

Obviously I have nothing to report on the workout front. I haven't done one!!
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
I also don't have anything to report on the diet front, because I don't think I've eaten all week. More:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Today I am starting all over and will do a short 30 min w/o and get some healthy food into myself. I'll report back later.

Have a great day!!
ellie

HI Peeps:

I'm going to give Lauren Brooks 40 mn w/o a try this morning and see how it goes. Then it is groceryMax, laundryMax, and what the heck to make for dinnerMax. I'm not a big fan of cooking so coming up with what to have for dinner gets really old. Thank goodness DH, DS & DD are not fussy and easy to please.

Robin~ I love cranberry bread. Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year? I've done it a few times and it is so much work. Have fun with your cardio w/o.

Ellie~ So glad to hear DS is doing better. Emotions can be very powerful and what you have been thru can really take a toll on how you feel physically and mentally. Good to hear you took a couple days to recoup.

Hi to everyone who follows. BBL.

JJ

My workout last night was fab! I did CC v4 on the TM. I usually do CC on the bike, but since we joined a gym I wanted to try it out on the TM. It was great and my calves were quite sore afterwards. I walked it as I still don't trust my knee yet to jog. Tonight I'll do a full body workout at the gym.

What are everyone's plans for Thanksgiving? I can't believe how quickly it is approaching. DH and I aren't traveling, which I am excited about. We usually have Thanksgiving with friends but they won't be in town this year. It might just be him and I. We signed up for a Turkey Trot 5K and are planning to go see the new James Bond movie.

Also, my jeans are so tight today . Ever since my dad's diagnosis and stuff I haven't been exercising regularly and have been eating like a horse. Well, it's showing and I can feel the change in my body. Yuck. I feel quite gross, but am trying to be positive about it and use it as motivation to get back on the proverbial wagon.

My recent weight gain has inspired my to keep the economy stimulated too :). I hadn't pre-ordered STS because it I don't like rigid rotations or lifting heavy. However, after seeing Cathe's most recent clip with the bonus leg work in meso cycle 1, I caved and pre-ordered that cycle. All of those bonus exercises are my knee PT exercises and I really like the looks of the regular leg workout too. I figure I can commit to this for a month and see how it goes. I also pre-ordered Kelly Coffey-Meyer's new KB and BC workouts. I want the new Spinervals workouts too but I will ask for them, along with 4DS for Christmas.

Robin - zucchini bread and cranberry bread sound wonderful! I love baked goods. I hope you have a great cardio workout.

Ellie - I am glad to hear that all is going well with your family. That must be a huge relief.

JJ - I don't envy your day of LaundryMax and GroceryMax. The only thing that would make it better would be Clean the Bathroom Max :p.

Wendy - Sorry to hear about the rat problem, but at least they patched up the holes in the roof and stuff so that they can't come in anymore. I hadn't heard of the candle store that you posted the link to yesterday so I had to check it out. Wouldn't you know they had free shipping on orders less than $24, so I bought 4 candles for Christmas gifts for people. I hope that Houdini is doing well and that you had the chance to remember your coffee creamer today :D. What did you think about TC? I liked that first challenge where people cook off against another person. They did that one previous season and I thought it was a really good challenge. There is a guy (Hosea) that is on the show that is from Boulder (where I live) and we've been to the restaurant that he works at before. That's kind of cool. So, I'm rooting for the home town boy. Remember Casey from one of the previous seasons? Was she from Dallas? If so, has she opened up any restaurants or anything? Let me know what you think about Patrick's Med Ball workout. It looks really good. It seems that you are interested in 30 min workouts. Kelly Coffey-Meyers has 2 workouts that she just filmed that are 30 min long. One is a KB workout and the other is a Boot Camp workout. They look awesome. I'll try to post the clips here for you. Also, she already has one out that is called 30 Minutes to Fitness and it has 2 30 min weightlifting workouts on it.

Catherine - what workout do you have planned for today?

Vilma - You are inspiring me to work on my water intake.

Good morning Peeps!!!

I am stressing big time!!! eating everything in sight since yesterday and now snacking on a bag of Chex Mix! I had my own job interview tuesday evening with a potential new Construction Manager (same company different state). It went pretty good and they invited me to stay for the awards banquet afterward, so I did... Then (since it might be a 2 for 1 deal with me and my DH) he invited DH & I to dinner last night so he could meet DH... And while it was not intended to be a formal interview, I was rather surprised and a little disappointed that the rest of his office crew decided to join us, therefore, stifling the "meat and potatos' of the conversation we wanted to have with respects to our expectations of salary, moving, etc... Also, as many of you are aware, more times than not, in construction the Superintendents and Construction Managers tend to be propmoted from the field in many cases, and therefore, have that "field" mentality and everything is one big beerfest...

so needless to say the only thing we got accomplished is that we all got to meet eachother... which means MORE waiting, and unfortunately MORE emotional eating temptations!!! Big wheels turn slow, so I will just be patient and hope it works out for the best...

sorry for the novel...

Robin: once again showing your domestic goddess side! that's more than I have cooked/baked in the past 6 years!!! :)

Ellie: What can I say... you are SUPERMOM!! we are all behind you 110% and will yell GO ELLIE GO!!! for your workout today! it will feel SO wonderful to get back to moving again... "normalcy" whatever that is will return :)

JJ: have fun with the longer KB workoutand then all your errands! you are gonna be either one pooped puppy, or the energizer bunny later! (I'd be the puppy)

Wendy: ewwww on the rats... we had squirrels in Washington, but they weren't a pests.. we actually fed the p-nuts and loved to watch em... we had names for them and everything!

Happy Thursday to Catherine, Heather, Vilma and all who follow!

ETA: Hi Karin: We posted at the same time and wanted to do a shout out to you too! :)

Hi Dani!!! I hope that all goes well for you and your DH in terms of the new position. Keep us posted.

Hello Peeps!

Well today was technically my rest day as its also the only day I can spend time with my hard working hubby.

So I don't usually plan much for Thursdays but he's taking a nap and I'm off to set up and do The Viper today instead.

Fridays are the start of my new workout week so I'll just grab a rest day when my body shouts for one lol

Wendy Ugh! About those darned rats ewwww- Sorry you're having to deal with that odor too blech!

Robin You're making me salivate with just thinking of fresh baked cranberry & zucchini bread. Those are my triggers and things I need to stay away from but OH YUMMM!!!!

Ellie Glad to hear everything is well with your son I briefly caught a glance at what happened ( I don't visit the OD forum much if any) and Bless your Heart - big Hugs! Us moms do hard work don't we? Do what you can - you've had quite the week.

JJ So how did you like Lauren's kbell dvd? I really enjoy that one.

I went ahead a ordered The Kettlebell Way 2 - Empire State. I hope I'm not disappointed but the details sound very good. Oh and also order Squeeze Stronger. Oy!

Leftovers here tonight as I have plenty of food from last night. I end up cooking way too much usually so it helps lol

Karin Great going on doing CCv4 on the TM. Thats all I have here is my TM so thats what I use lol.

No T-day plans as far as extended family coming over but I plan on baking a spiral ham, sweet potatos, veggies, rolls plus baking a pie for just us here. More than likely my 18 yr old's boyfriend will eat with us. We keep holidays very low key and bring out the board games and Uno cards lol

I think we are doing our fair share of stimulating the economy also as I have purchased a few more fitness dvds, and started Christmas shopping- thankfully I do most of it online. I don't like shopping in crowded stores or waiting in lines anymore.

Glad I inspired you to drink your water. I've already drank 80oz thus far and I feel I need more, the inside of my mouth gets to feeling dry quickly.

Its easy to just grab a 20oz water bottle and walk around with it and just drink & drink. The bladder does adjust, so I don't make so many bathroom stops. I keep two bottles of water on my nightstand so as I'm waking up bleary eyed I'm automatically drinking my water. Plus it helps curb my appetite.

Doesn't include my coffee & tea I drink throughout the day also.

Dani Here's hoping the job all goes well . Too bad it wasn't a formal setting to talk about specifics, I'm sure that'll get worked out - right?

Well Peepettes time I get off my butt and get my workout in before I talk myself out of it lol

Have a Great Day Everyone & Hello to all who follow!

Guten Morgen, Peeps!

Yep, the cup of coffee with CARMEL APPLE COFFEE-MATE is sitting on my desk! Yes! I remembered to bring it and it's soooooooooooooo yummy. Perfect for this 50'ish fall morning we are having here in Dallas.

I got up and did 4DS Shoulders and Core Max (stability ball section.) I'm doing well on eating this week--I made spicy squash pasta again for lunch, served with spinach salad and a red pepper jelly vinegarette I made from this month's Cooking Light (it's AWESOME, by the way!) and tonight is ground turkey stuffed peppers with Muir Glen organic spaghetti sauce on top. Yummy!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday (it's all about the food, what's not to love?) And I host for my mom, sisters, and this year I'm taking in a crew member who is working in Dallas for the holidays (he is from Seattle.) Here is my menu: Maple-Mustard glazed turkey breast, spaghetti squash with Asiago cheese and seasonal herbs, gingered whipped sweet potatoes, spinach salad with red pepper jelly vinegarette, steamed green beans, bread stuffing, sauteed corn with fresh thyme, cranberry sauce with apples, spiced pumpkin bread, Steen's Cane Syrup Pumpkin Pie and pecan pie. I can't wait to cook--I love the seasonal produce at this time of year!

Robin--Your breads sound delicious! Does your zucchini bread use a lot of oil? I'd love to make one but all the recipes I find seem to use quite a bit of oil in them....

Ellie--I'm so glad to hear you are doing so well! I say, give yourself this week off and start with a fresh slate next week. :)

JJ--Woman, you are UBER BUSY today!

Karin--You are going to love those WIK candles!! I like the Fig & Honey and LOVE the Tuscan Olive one (they are going to be gifts this year--I'm getting some this weekend for a start on holdiay shopping!) You are right--I'm totally into the 30-40 minute workout! My body just seems to respond better to those. I have never seen a Kelly Coffey-Meyers DVD but I'm checking out this link next. I would really be interested in another Boot Camp DVD and if it can be done in like 30-40 minutes? Well, like you, I will be helping the economy grow with another purchase!!

I can't wait to hear your review of the STS cycle you bought!!

Dani--I can feel the stress in your words as you type them!!! I can't even begin to imagine how tempting eating is right now!! Hang in there. Your decison will be made soon from the sounds of it. Any chance you can go get a pedicure or massage or something to keep you occupied and help you relax??

Vilma--Just the name Viper scares me! :) Enjoy your workout and time with DH today!

I'll be back later...of course!

:) Wendy

Hello ladies!! Thank goodness it's Thursday!! Today will be a rest day-yippee!! I might do some stretching, but that should be it. Tomorrow is a KB session with Katie:) I am noticing my upper abs more since I started kettlebelling. I guess the lower abs just have too much fat over them

Robin, cranberry bread sounds yummy!! I wish I could cook/bake

Ellie, hope you enjoy your w/o. I think easing back in is an excellent idea. Glad you all seem to be doing better. What a stressful week!!!

JJ, no session with Andrea? Let me know how you like Lauren's w/o. I did this last night and till the last segment I would ff through the rest. On that last section I was needing the rest :p

Dani, how awkward. I hope everything works out. Try not to stress too much ;)

Karin, that leg work looks a bit scary to me:eek:

Vilma, you are the bomb!! Go from resting to doing the Viper

Wendy, what's little Houdini up to today???

Karin--OK, just looked at the Kelly Coffey-Meyer clip for the Boot Camp and that looks REALLY good. I like that she has a modifier!! Then I don't have to think of how to modify, LOL!

Also, I forgot to comment on Top Chef! I really liked last night's episode!! The challenges were interesting and that apple challenge got really hard. I do think the right people were sent home, too. Most impressive to me was the guy who made the good Indian cuisine who had never had Indian cuisine--he must have incredible tasting skills to pull that off!!

Catherine--Houidni is having an active day at Grandma's. Last night she entertained herself by coloring on my ceramic tiles in the kitchen...thank goodness Crayola now makes washable crayons!!

:) Wendy

Hi gang. The bread is done and in the freezer, where I can't get to it!

ellie, you sure have a good excuse to let the workouts slide for a bit. I'm glad to hear everything seems to be returning to normal, whatever the heck that is!

JJ, I'm scheduled to work on Thanksgiving, so a friend of mine is cooking. We try to trade off , since she has to work holidays too. I'm doing the bread and desert, she will do the turkey etc. When we both have to work, the DH's cook. They do a pretty good job, too.

Karin, I'm sure you'll get those jeans to fit more comfortably in no time. You had a pretty good excuse too. Way to go, boosting the economy. I haven't ordered STS. I just couldn't afford it. I've never been able to stick to a rotation either. I'm just going to muddle on with what I have. Maybe I'll be able to find STS on ebay in a little while...

Dani, I hope all your job decisions get made with too much upheaval. I've had the same job for 28 years. In a few years, my supervisor will be retiring and the boss above her has made it very clear she'd like me to take the job. I really don't want to give up my bench work. I doubt if I'll take the job. The increased pay won't compansate for the headaches the job entails.

Vilma, funny you should metion Uno. That's one of the things we usually end up doing with our friends after dinner. I see you ordered the new KB workout. All I had to do is look at the price. Why are they so darned expensive?

Wendy, your Thanksgiving menu made me hungry! The zucchini bread I make is the recipe with lots of oil. I've tried healthier recipes, but they just aren't as good. I figure it is just a treat every now and then. LOL at your budding artist. I remember when we had friends come to stay for a weekend. Tristan was about 3 or 4. He got into their suitcase and found a bright red lipstick, which he then colored the bathroom door with.

Catherine, congratulations on your upper abs. I've heard others say KB workouts have improved their abs. I did Amy's KB abs after I stepped.

I did Amy's ASC3 for my workout today. It was a bit of a struggle. I didn't get much sleep last night. DD was on a field trip and didn't get home until 2am. The baby never settles down to a sound sleep until his mommy is home, so DH and I were both up way too late. I'm going to go try to grab a little nap...

Hi Peeps,
I am taking it very slowly but have made some goals for the next few days. Increasing my water intake, cutting down portion size and just doing 30 min routines to get me back on track. Emotional stress wipes me out. But, I do feel better and am looking forward to to enjoying my days

Wendy, I am coming to your house for T-day.!!! That all sounds soooo delicious. I am domestically challenged in the kitchen.

Robin--Then I'm headed to your house for dessert!

JJ- how are you keeping up this pace??? I am almost ready to jump on the KB wagon. Are you loving it? Where to start???

Karin- now my money is burning a hole in my pocket. I am sooooo ready for some new workouts but not sure what I want. I have never done Kelly or Amy or Tracey. I am a Catheholic, but I need something to change it up. Any suggestions?? Hope your dad is well.

Vilma- Thank you for helping the economy!!! I am ready to do the same, just not sure where to start. I misread your post and thought you said YOUR 18 year old boyfriend was coming over!!! I thought, hell, I'm doing whatever workouts SHE'S doing!!!!

Dani--This must be a lot of stress for you and DH. It wears you down doesn't it. I hope everything works out for the best. I can imagine you wanting to eat everything. I have done it under extreme stress situations. And sometimes just because I like it. I almost bought a pumpkin pie yesterday!

Catherine- enjoy your rest day! Read a book, take a bath, watch a little TV. Whatever makes you feel good. Let us know about your next session.

ellie

Checking back in kinda late. I've started to feel like I'm coming down with something....foggy headache and queasy stomache. I did get in my KB w/o and 4 loads of laundry but skipped the grocery store.

Karin~ WTG on your CC w/o. How has your dad been doing? You've been thru a stressful time so don't beat yourself up over your diet & exercise. I'm sure you will be back on track in no time;)

Dani~ Hey...I had some chex mix today too:eek: Good luck on the job front and keep us posted. I've got my fingers crossed!

Vilma~ I really enjoyed Lauren's longer w/o. At first I thought it felt kinda easy but I was really sweating by the end. I need some more KB dvd's...any suggestions? I do plan on ordering AOS Providence and Newport.

Catherine~ Andrea is out of town this week so I won't see her until next Thursday. I'm really glad I have Lauren's dvd to practice with. Have a good session with Katie tomorrow.

Robin~ I hope you get some sleep tonight!

Ellie~ Starting back slowly sounds like a good plan. You'll reach your goals before you know it!

Have a good evening Peeps:)

JJ
