Thunder in December - in Indiana!!!

You all just won't believe this, but we've got a little thunderstorm rolling through Indianapolis right now! Holy Cow! I was sitting here and heard a rumbling and thought, "It's awful late for them to be picking up trash," thinking it was a garbage truck. But no! A couple minutes later a nice roll of thunder rumbled overhead, then another, and another - and another big one just now! Shiver me timbers! Less than two weeks before Christmas and it's thundering here! This just doesn't happen in Indiana (although we had what they called "thunder snow" last year). I wish all this rain today had been snow, though...coz then we'd be snowed in under a couple feet of snow! Wishful thinking.

I remember getting a couple of those kind of storms in December in Minnesota. We had a crazy thunderstorm and tornado here in London last week - it was freaky!

It's been warm here - 60's - but of course it's warmer here than what I'm used to in Ohio. The average temp here on Christmas Day is 47. Sigh ... this will take some getting used to. I don't remember too many Christmas Days without snow. Here's to hoping all you Northerners who want a white Christmas get one! I probably won't see one of those again for a long time.

My daughter rode her bike to her voice lesson, which got done at 4:30, and at 4:20, I noticed that there was signigicant rumbling. So I hopped into my little car and went down to the HS to get her. She argued and wanted to ride her bike home, until we walked out to the car, and CRASH big bolt of lightening. The next half hour was like that. We are East Central Illinois so got these a few hours before you!
