Three Things - April 13, 2005

I met a great friend named Shelley
She always starts a good thread
And keeps us laughing with her wit and charm
And that lime on that goofy cat's head.

On days when I don't feel like working
I can't wait for the next note from Shelley
She's sweet and she's smart and an excellent mom
And have you seen that girl's fab belly??!!

1. Saturday is almost here! ;)
2. Had a great bike ride today (hilly intervals x( ) with lots of country wildlife (and even some exotic ones). Baby animals are just SOOO cute!
3. My hormones are back to normal. Which for me is only SLIGHTLY neurotic! :)

That does not surprise me one bit, Angie. One of the Friday night yoga instructors could not remember a young woman's name although they are usually very impressive when it come to doing that. It's one of the ways they get you hooked. It makes you feel loved. Her name was Angie though, so I rolled my eyes and sang it and he remembered. I assure you my rendition is very good! Voice like an angel! ;) If someone can't remember mine, call me Bonnie or Barbie, I just say, "It's Bobbi but you can call me Bob," and they remember it although they usually don't call me Bob. My sister's often call me Bob and so does my husband. His is an acronym for Bag Of Bones.

Reason number 8,462 why I keep coming back to Cathe.com. A poem, for me! And laughter, first thing in the morning, with only two sips of coffee down the hatch. You just know it's going to be a good day when that happens!

My husband was cranky last night and I don't think he enjoyed my cheerfulness one bit! I had to remain mum about all the fun I had here yesterday because he is unimpressed and might get this crazy idea I spent way too much time online yesterday. Which I did but I remained mum about that too. Plus my sister gave me an iBook, which is not online, but I had it upstairs, across my lap, exploring it just before bedtime and that made him grumble and grouse about my never getting off the computer. Still everyone else was happy, even the 16 year old. Had it really only been the day before when she declared she wished she'd never been born and trounced off into her bedroom, probably to write poetry with a much darker theme than yours? Never underestimatate the power of a happy mother.

There was a very conspiritorial air around here, poking fun of Mr Cranky Britches but too good nature to be sucked into his dark mood although I did promise to clean the garage and be a good housekeeper/mother/wife to soothe his ruffled feathers and I have to clean my car because a bird had the audacity to drop a fresh one on me while I was driving to Sam's school for my Wednesday reading date with the first graders, who smell, by the way and not in a good way. The copious amounts windshield wiper fluid I used to clean off the pooh actually made it's way to the side windows, streaking them up and my car looks dreadful and would it surprise you if I said that just killed Rich, my anal retentive slob of a husband? He who leaves socks and unders on the floor, and never puts the lid on the coffee can or the sugar canister but must have neatness at all costs? Do I categorize his messes? No. I clean them up, make no apologies for my compulsive ways and keep on truckin' because today's the day I tackle the house. Yesterday was two appointments and a trip to the grocery store and that means no focus on this old house. I do not multitask. And you know the only good thing about those busy outside days? I can be on and off the computer like a frenzied typist, knowing I will have to write a ridiculously long and rambling post first thing in the morning of the day when the computer must be ignored, as alluring as he is, so I can get the house in order?

And there are but three things between me and a sparkling abode:

1. It's a beautiful April morning in Tucson and beautiful April mornings in Tucson happen pretty much every day in April in Tucson in the morning.
2. Although no one told me we are out of milk, I found one waffle for Sam's breakfast and an unplanned trip to the grocery store is no biggie because I am a domestic goddess! Plus Rich is working late, I don't have to cook dinner and I am going to yoga tonight. Also I don't not intend to keep my promise to stay away form the computer, only to use it in moderation.
3.Shelley's number three is a beautiful and uplifting thing and it is good to know that life is full of unexpected blessing!

Oh my goodness you guys! I am glad I am home alone. I am grinning from ear-to-ear reading your posts. Don't EVEN ask me to try to rhyme this...a poet, I'm NOT! Do you ever wonder what we did BC? (Before Cathe) This is truly THE place to come if you want to put a smile on your face. You guys have me cracking up here bigtime. I think Cathe brings out the best in you all. Nancy, yep...the 26th. is just around the corner. All this packing and doing my classes in-between is hindering my posting time and that doesn't make me happy. But....we are getting High Speed Internet at our new house! You guys think I have lots of posts now? Just you wait! http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/sign/1/sign20.gif I'm blessed to know each & every one of you!

OMIGOD DEB!!!! I can't believe you did all those posts WITHOUT high-speed internet access! Say it isn't so? No? Where DO you get the patience.

Why isn't Mr. Cranky Britches on a computer of his own like the rest of the civilized world?? Doesn't he know that marriage means lying in bed next to each other sending IMs that have to process themselves through another state in order to reach the other side of the bed? It's called getting with living in the new millenium, Mr. Cranky Britches. If he needs your attention, he can send an IM or an email. Leave our Bobbi alone, Mr. Cranky Britches. Go back to the office and bill a few more hours instead. :+

Oooh! I love that! I can just imagine what he might say if I suggest he email or IM me if he wants my attention. I can see him turning red right now. Other than the fact that he is always to be found within this city, uses a computer at work, he's not very internet savvy. He's on a PC at work and wants one for home but I am intent on getting a new iMac G5, which, if properly loaded, will enable us remote hookups of all computers. Beside this old G3, I have an iBook my sister gave me because she doesn't get this whole technological world any more than Rich. He was thrilled when she gave it to me as you can imagine!

I have no idea what I did without the internet but I don't think I need to tell anyone what an integral part of life it now is. I guess I should be happy he doesn't find anything online that interesting. As it is, jockeying for position with the teens is a pain and I always have to defer. Should homework be accompanied by that IM noise? They are in school now but come summertime, it's gonna get ugly. Or not, I get up early and they sleep late when schools out, so it may end up being as it is now. I don't get online much in the evening.

He does have his things but he doesn't equate them to mine. It's cool to be into remote control airplanes and the guitar but all this clean diet/workout/Cathe.com stuff? Not cool/very obsessive. I make no one eat whole wheat pasta/join me for a workout/come see what's floating my boat online. Yet, I am an expert at feigning interest. I got a serenade of Peter' Gabriels's "In Your Eyes" last night. I think he should forget the guitar lessons he dreams of and go for voice lessons. ;) Somethings are better left unsaid. Wouldn't it be great if everyone felt that way? :D
