I have always worked out in a gym but i don't live near one now.which dvd uses DB, stab ball, bands only. i have very limited space and cannot buy barbells and step yet. also i have thick carpet everywhere, which makes the foot stability a challenge . i walk /run for cardio so i'm not interested in dvd's with aerobics.
thanks..
Beth

Most (if not all) of Cathe's work outs, you can use DB's instead of a BB. There's the Gym Style series which, in my opinion is one of Cathe's best. You could also purchase Pyrmaid Lower/Upper Body. There's also Butts and Guts. All are great work outs. In all of these work outs, you do leg presses, but without a step it's going to make those exercises hard to do. You can always substitute something else for those.

Great decision!

I used Cathe DVDs substituting dumbbells for a barbell for a long time. You may wish you had a step quite often, but I agree that you can modify. You may want to do split squats with the rear leg elevated on a chair or rear lunges or paper-plate slide lunges (like in the STS Meso 1 Legs pics in the blog) as a substitute. You may need to find something to lie down on (as a bench) for the prone exercises.

I think that most of the weight workouts could be modified to suit you. I don't own a barbell, use a step stool to do step ups, and just lie on the ground on a workout mat for prone exercises like chest press. Every once in a while a DVD will do an incline move of some sort, but I just do a regular prone move instead.

My favorites are the Gym Style series, the Pyramids, Muscle Endurance and Muscle Max (sadly I lost this DVD so I haven't done it in a long, long time). All of those would have to be slightly modified, but I have no problems. I also like the CTX series and used to really like Maximum Intensity Strength (don't have this on DVD though), and those probably wouldn't have to be modified at all. I think that a lot of Cathe's oldest workouts are just plain weights - no high step, stability ball or band. So, you might look at Power Hour, the Slow and Heavy Series, Pure Strength, etc, etc.
