I'd like some recommendations on dvds and also, how often should I do it per week to get the benefits? I was thinking 3x. Also, how does pilates compare to the Lotte Berks?

RE: thinking of adding some pilates into my rotation......

The only pilates dvd i think that did anything for me was Karen voit it uses a resista ring.
Stay away from ginam . Boring Boring.
It is an hour long though.
Good luck??

hi cbelle :)

i've recently been adding pilates to my rotation. previously, i never liked piltates..(boring to me, too :p) but based on a rec from the 'educated crowd' :) i got mtv's pilates mix. (i know, the 'mtv' thing kinda made me wonder..but it's actually a great workout! i was really pleasantly surprised!) it's got 2 half hour sections, one more arm/ab focused, the other more leg/ab focused. i've been getting a pretty good workout with them...and some doms to boot!

}( you may wanna check it out. it's NOT available on collage, but got mind from the local borders or it's also at amazon.com.

good luck..hth a little!

personally i like the breakthru pilates videos that have tracy york and michelle dozios. i borrowed these from my sister one day and really love them. i believe they are only $6 at deepdiscountdvd.com if you don't mind waiting 2 weeks to get them. i have on pilates method dvd from jennifer kriess. its okay but nothing compared to the challenge for breakthru plus its three different segments and only one is true pilates and its only 20 mins.i know she has more videos but i never really bothered to research on that. i also have caribbean pilates dvds that i found at wal-mart $5.50 for both. i use it for lighter days b/c its not as challenging but still pretty good to get moving.they are short segments as well but they can be paired up for longer workouts. i also use the NYC ballet when i want pilates type workouts. highly suggested for a leg workout. i don't know to much about lotte berk other then she does alot of reps in her workouts and that they are pretty much under 40 mins.

someone from my exercisevideos group at yahoo really recommends stott pilates. she is almost a pilates pro(robin is her name,i believe she is on the boards here also).besides the videos for her pilates reformer, she has always recommended stotts for those looking for good pilates workouts. that is about all i have for recommendations.
