They just don't get it.

They have started this wellness program here at work called "Take Steps". I guess the premise is that you have teams of people and you are supposed to work together to improve your habits. So, everyone on the team gets a pedometer to track how many steps they take throughout the day. The other day, this one woman in my department was all excited because she had so many steps the night before. Guess how she celebrated? She brought in 2 dozen donuts for the department. I wonder if they actually are expecting to see a downward change in their weight? I just sit in my office and keep my mouth shut...

I totally understand what you're saying!! Our wellness program is pretty decent, but 9 times out of 10 they reward us with donuts or pizza. I work with one of the people on the committee and asked why they don't bring in something a bit healthier and he said that it's just easier and more cost efficient to bring that kind of stuff in. Defeats the whole purpose if you ask me!! Our office is filled with obese people who take the elevator up 1 floor. Drives me nuts....

In my opinion, donuts are just about the worst thing you could possible eat!!! What was she thinking? Maybe she wants to expand her physique instead? I guess that is why some get so frustrated because they think they can just throw anything into their mouth and get some where by it. DUH! I guess I am alittle crabby because our family went out fast food last night and I got stuck eating the low carb burger at Hardees and nothing else while I watched the rest of my family eat fries, fried chicken and chili dogs in my face.

That cracks me up when I see people taking the elevator here (we've only got 2 floors). The only time I take it is if I have my daughter with me. She thinks it's fun to ride in the "alligator"!

And Charlotte...you don't sound cranky. They do deserve a great big "DUH!" I really like the ladies in the office, but it just blows my mind how clueless people are about how to lose weight the right way. But you know what? I looked at your pictures and I think you can let yourself have something bad once in a while. You're tiny! I ate a 1/3 lb. burger and fries at Fuddrucker's on Friday, then Saturday had pizza and wings, and pizza and wings yesterday! I don't feel a darned bit guilty. Just kind of glad it's back to healthy today.

My SIL asked me the other day how I had lost the 16 lbs. I did and I said that I changed what I eat and that I exercise a lot. I really emphasized "a lot" to try to get my point across. I really believe it's the only way.

Donna,

Your funny, and thanks for the compliment. For me, I can't treat myself once in awhile because if I do I will not stick with clean eating. I am trying to brainwash myself that plain food taste good!!!! If I tease myself with sweets, etc. once in awhile, I will wall off the wagon for sure! I am not the type of person to limit myself to a treat...I will want the whole friggin' bag, etc. and then there is no limit to my self destruction. When my children get candy, I ask them to hide it cuz if I find it and I am in a desperate moment, it will be gone (period)LOL

Donna,
I can't believe that! Too funny! Why couldn't everyone go out for a healthy lunch or something? Or do something non-food related?

lol

Just like my dad always says, "You can run a marathon and you still won't lose a pound of fat". It's all about what you are stuffing your face with.:9
