The super stepper vs. org stepper

steppin

Cathlete
I'm new to the program and I have notices in some of cathe's vid's she use a black/gray stepper(super) I was told??? and black/green (org stepper)which I have. What is the difference?? super stepper is 15 1/2in ht and the org. stepper goes up to 10in max ht. Now I know this is a crazy question. And I am new..... But what is the function of the super stepper??? just for inclinces, chest, back, tricep, bicep, and other barbell/weight/firm work-outs??? Why would you need an super stepper? How tall is each black block 4in??? Keep in mind I'm new....... Please advise Thank again:7

Hi..not Cathe here, but...

Is this the step you are talking about??

If so, the only thing I have seen it used for was a bench. You don't need it...you can use your original step for everything, I think. You can always get extra risers for your step if you want it higher for lying weight work, but I don't think it is necessary.

I have both. I bought the super step for the incline in case i use my old firm videos. It is more stable.
I like the incline . It is a a matter of preference.I use both depending on which workout i am using. It comes with2 4 in risers and i believe the top is 6 in.

Anne and Julie,

Thanks so much for your help. I have another question. Now if you use the Org. step how many riser do you use? for bench work?
5 rise (total of 10) or 6 riser (total of 12). Thanks so much for your help. I just want to have a tone/health body. and I believe sooo much in cathe's workout. The workout are so wonderful and the feeling you get afterwords is unbelieveable.... thanks again...

Hi Roxie! Honestly, if you have an original step (which it sounds like you do), stick with it. The benefits of the Super Step are mainly the incline features and height options. But if step aerobics is a strong part of your fitness program, stick with the step you have and it will work well for your other fitness needs. If for some reason you wanted your original step a little higher, you can always purchase additional risers rather than having to buy a whole new step. Just my suggestion :)

Hi again, Roxie-

I have a total of 8 risers now, because I also bought the High Step which came with 4 risers. I will use all 8, which makes the step 12 inches high, when I use it as a bench. I will sometimes use just a few on one end if I want it to incline/decline for chest work. I am pretty short so 12 inches is a nice height for me for seated work as well...like when doing seated shoulder presses or rear delt flys.

Yup, Cathe's workouts are a blast. I have been known to laugh out loud, sing along, and grunt & groan .... :D
