You have to stay in shape. My Grandmother started walking when she was 60. Today she is 97 and we don't know where the hell she is! - Ellen DeGeneres

RE:

DH and I own our home...it's our first...very small and "cozy" and was quite inexpensive for today's market...hoping to go bigger about a year after the arrival of our 1st born....

We lived with my mom for about 1 1/2 years prior to getting married and for a few months after we got married in order to save up to be able to buy.

Have a great work out!

RE:

We own and rent:eek:

We own a home in Houston Texas, which we rent out.

We rent the home we live in because we do not plan to be in this area long and do not want to buy.

We want to sell the house which we own and rent out, but the housing market in Houston is really bad right now so we're waiting for it to turn aroundx(

RE:

We've owned our house since a few months before we got married in 1997. It was a major dump when we bought it, but neither of us made more than $20,000 a year at the time and couldn't afford anything nicer. It was built in 1927 and is a colonial. We've done a lot of work on it and it's pretty nice now, but still needs a lot on the outside. We've got a great yard, though. 3 acres, with about an acre of woods. Gets super sloppy-wet in the spring and we usually have a family of ducks for a few weeks every year. My favorite time of year is early spring when the "peepers" are out. Their little froggy songs at night are beautiful and eerie at the same time.

I'm looking forward to when my daughter starts kindergarten this fall and we can get our credit card debt paid off and buy a bigger house in a neighborhood where she can ride her bike, though. We're on a pretty busy street right now. We weren't thinking "kids" when we bought the house. DUH!

RE:

We bought our first home in 1999. It a nice small house. When the boys started getting bigger we decided we needed to get a larger house so we were not all on top of each other. We did that and then my husband got a job transfer 15 months later and we had to move again. So wee bought sold that one and bought another where we moved to. Well guess what 2 years after that we got transfered back so we had to do it again. The house we have now and bought is by the kids' schools for the next several years. Hopefully we don't get transfered for a while.

RE:

We own as well.We rented when we were younger but we realized it was a totallwaste of money. We could buy a house here and not have to pay much more.We started small but it is still enough room for 3 of us,there are rooms I never go in.If I ever get pregnate we would have to move.
We live in a town where the prices of houses are going up! Very up! And one person trys to out do the other one.I don't get caught up in that but alot of people do.Everyone knows everyone business and if they don't they will make something up!
Anyway....

RE:

Sounds like the college I went to my first 2 years. I was blown away when I found out things that I had supposedly done or said. We live relatively anonymously in our town right now, but I suspect that will change once our little one starts school and I join the PTA.

RE:

I rented until I was in my forties! With the prices in NY city, it's very difficult to own anything. I enjoyed renting, though. I liked the feeling of knowing I could pick up and leave at the end of a lease, and I did so MANY times. Every time I changed jobs, I moved close to my office.

I'm glad we finally bought in 2000 though, because, although we thought we were paying top dollar at the time, our apartment has almost doubled in value since we purchased it. I can hardly believe what's going on around here!

RE:

We own--bought our house in 1998 and thank goodness we did as housing prices have just skyrocketed here in So California. Our house has already tripled in price! My husband would love to move to Canada and sometimes I think about how far the profit on our house would take us!

RE:

Well, we rent, for the next week or so.

We're waiting our closing date on our first house. And got it cheep too. The last owners up and left in the night(literally) and the bank was forced to foreclose. So we got it way cheep cause mainly they just wanted what was left on the note and the cost to clean the place up.

Will this next week go by faster so I can move in?
