the reebok step versus the step

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the reebok step is just as good as The Step. I think I like the reebok step better, because it is one piece and easier to store. My living room is small. The step has too many parts such as the risers and seems harder to store. Does anyone have any advice?

I use it and I like it fine. The only slight down side of it is that it is shorter than the step company step. So...flying angels and skip down the bench feel a little short.

I actually have both of them. I started with the Reebok step for the reasons you stated above, but after some knee problems had to lower to a 4 inch step height and the Reebok's lowest height is 6 inches. So I ended up later just purchasing the 4 inch platform from The Step for about $30. Just some things to consider.

HI.

I've always worked out with the smaller length versions (partly because I'm a cheapskate), but maybe about three months ago I went ahead & bought the original Step. I had the self-adjusting Reebok until this time I it was just fine but then gave it away. My biggest dislike about it is that you can't break out & do alot of those long width step moves Cathe does without worrying you're going to trip & fall.

See, I'm not very graceful, but I've done Cathe's tapes long enough to get pretty good & just let myself go. But I had to always hold back on some of those length wise moves lest I fall. I personally felt like my momentum slowed down.

You should always watch your feet with a Step but I think I do feel safer on the longer one. Plus, depending on your height & your workout objectives, it can double as a weight bench. I'm glad I finally just spent the extra money.

I personally prefer the Step to the Reebok Step. The Reebok Step is a very fine piece of equipment, but I find when I'm working on the step and facing either end (as opposed to facing forward or backwards) it isn't wide enough for me and I have to be careful not to trip over my own feet :) I notice this especially in Step Fit, doing basics on the end of the board and in Rhythmic Step, doing the tap shuffle- it's just a lot easier on the Original Step because there's more room.

Either way though, they're both great- good luck with your decision!

I've always stepped on the Reebok Step. It works fine w/ Cathe's videos. If I could get a good deal on the Original Step, however, I would replace my Reebok Step in a heartbeat. I sometimes feel I need the additional space that I've heard the Original Step provides. I also would like the additional risers to use w/ my high step.

If you're planning to store the step on its side, I will warn you that when I pick my step up or store it on its side w/ the long side vertical, the risers occasionally fall off. I think I read that others have this problem as well. So, if storing it this way, in one piece, is one of your reasons for purchasing it, you might want to rethink going with the Reebok.
