Good morning everyone!

Did we all manage to make it through the weekend relatively unscathed? Although I went to the cupboard a million times and stared at the cookies, I did not eat a single one! I came very close, mind you. The little voice in my head was saying "oh come on, Shelley, you've worked your butt off today! You deserve a cookie!".:p

I'm so proud of you Shelley sticking to your guns. This is day six for me. I keep telling myself it's just this month. Hopefully, my taste buds will do a 360.

This weekend I've always watched a Gary Null tape, don't know if you're familiar with him, but he's big on healthy eating. The things he were saying about alot of foods had my antennas up.

I'm trying really hard to keep up with this month and every month that follows}( }( .

Well I had my exemption this weekend. My DH's birthday was on Saturday. So that is the last cake I will see for the rest of the month.

I have been doing really well with this. I was originally just swearing off baked sweets, but have really been avoiding everything - candy, chocolate, ice cream, etc. When I did have some ice cream on Saturday, it just made me feel sick. And there was a big meeting on Friday afternoon and they had loads of huge cookies, but I did not have one. Talk about willpower! I am usually the person who eats 2 or 3! Most of my coworkers think I'm pretty crazy to give up sweets for a month, so I haven't told any of them that I'm going vegetarian too. Except for one guy, and he thought it was cool. He was like "You SHOULD be a vegetarian! That's cool!" Uhhh, okay... :p

OK, weekend confessional....please tell me I'm not the only bad egg...

1 Toaster Streudel (BF's DD saved it just for me)
Movie Popcorn (although not sugar, it's still not good)
1 popsicle (only 50 calories but not sugar-free)

Am I getting kicked out of the club?? :-(

Angie ;(

Angie - those aren't so bad. The movie popcorn doesn't even count! How was your stomach after though? I remember last time it wasn't so good.

Haydee - I'm in the midst of PMS and right now the rollercoaster seems to be on a fun downhill slope, but just wait until we're going "tick tick tick tick" up one of those long hills}(

Good morning!!

I survived Sunday night family dinner! I stuck with my plan for dessert and truly enjoyed the strawberries. Organics make such a delicious difference! ;)

Shelley- I don't know how you do it. If I kept cookies in the house I would surely eat them! You're an inspiration and your strength is contagious.

Five days down and only 25 more to go! We can do it!

Connie :D

Way to go, Emily!! I understand your decision to keep some of your eating strategies private. I haven't told my mom about giving up sweets. I just don't want to deal with her opinions about it, even though she is mostly supportive about my healthy lifestyle. I don't think she really understands the whole clean eating thing, though. And that's just my mom- one person, I can't imagine having to deal with an office of different people and their opinions. x( :p

I admire you for becoming a vegetarian!

Connie :D

Way to go Connie!! Strawberries are one of my favorites. Glad your mother had a healthy alternative.

I just saw that I bought the wrong applesauce, I bought sweetened instead of unsweetened, darn it. I was planning on cinnamon applesauce as part of my lunch but I guess even though it is applesauce, it is still sugar. Rats...

Well I am happy to say that I am doing really well with this. That's not to say I Don't have my moments of WANTING to eat sugary stuff but I have passed it by. I think of shelley creaming at me and making me do something horrible to repair my "fall" from the challenge :) I have been eating more fruit when I crave and that helps too. Is this month going by slow? :)

Terri

Where on earth did this reputation for being some kind of horrible monster come from? I'm very pleasant. Unless, of course, you do something to make me unpleasant;)

Anyone know of a source of fat free, sugar free fugsicles? ( don't ask!) I found fat free ones but they had about 19 gr of sugar each!

Had baked pork chops, rice and corn last night. so made it through day 5. today, I have done well so far. Just finished with a peanut butter and bananna sandwich, I know sounds gross. I got my protein and fruit. Then ate some midgets pickles. So we'll so see what the rest of the holds.

I am just thinking that I am going to the beach for a week in the first week of july. I will definitely have some sweets here and there, or there, orthere. Won't be that bad. But I won't feel guilty. this challenge has given me some of my will power I had lost for about 8 months now.

kim

Kim - I LOVE pb and banana! It was one of my Mom's faves too! The beach in July? You lucky woman. And it will be July. You can stuff your face with cookies ALL DAY in July;)

I've been absolutely sugar-free today! But now I want a peanut butter and banana sandwich. Sigh. Hopefully by the time I get home I will have forgotten how good that sounds!

mmm they are one of my favorites!!! I take them on long bike rides... I find they give me energy that lasts and they taste yummy!!!

SO the no sugar thing is going well. I've recruited my DB and my mom to play this little game too. Neither of them like me very much right now. But they'll get over it :p
