HA!! I bet you all thought I was gonna say I cheated already, didn't you?:p

How come once we know we can't have something, we just want it MORE? The cookies were crying this morning - "No Shelley, don't leave us, what have we ever done to you???? We Looooooooooooooove you Shelley, come back to us!! We're not evil... really. We're nutritious, why yes we are!!! Honest - would we lie?"

:+

RE: The

Funny, cookies say the same thing to me. Except they say "Emily", instead of "Shelley".

So far so good, for me. But it's only 8:40am... :p

RE: The

I even ate my waffles with NO SYRUP this morning. Just Kashi waffles and soy sausage.... no syrup... the more i think about it the more i want to cry :p Oh AND i used stevia instead of sugar in my coffee :D

What about honey, can we eat honey? i wonder how honey on waffles would taste... haha

RE: The

I was thinking of all of you this morning. I saw the other thread, but never got around to posting. I really don't think I could do this. I just love my coffee creamer to much! That's the perfect way to start the day, of course right after my Cathe work out! MMM, I'm sipping on my coffee right now! It says it has Splenda in it, so that would be out right? Other than that, I'm not a sweet-a-holic. I could probably do it???? My real downfall is carbs. Love all of them bread, pasta, etc...

What were the guidelines again? I'll have to find the other thread.

RE: The

Kashi makes waffles??? Hmmmm... I'll have to look into this. ;) Are they pretty good?

IMO, Honey is no better than white sugar. It's still a simple carb and it's probably best to avoid it during the no-sweets challenge. But I'll tell you what I love to put on waffles - fresh strawberries or raspberries! MMMMMM!!!! :9

RE: The

Ok I haven't had sugar today but I went all out last night and ate a cookie, a peice of licorice and a few Teddy Grahams. I felt guilty! Why do I have teddy grahams in my house anyway?! I have no children at home and my 24 year old certainly doesnt like them! Ok I admit I like them and I also like animal crackers :) Today I feel so guilty about last nigh I should be ok.

RE: The

Oh Terri, believe me, I went home last night and attacked the cookies with a vengeance and also ate a piece of banana bread!

And Dallas, your coffee is fine. It wouldn't be included. And others are using Splenda. The rules are fairly flexible, but basically no cookies, baked goods like cake, cupcakes. I bet you could do it! If I can, anyone can.:p

RE: The

I am just cutting out the cookies, cake, candy, pie and so forth. My coffee creamer is fat-free but has corn syrup which I KNOW is sugar but I think cutting the junk food is my goal. I can NOT drink my coffee without my creamer. I say do what works for you. (At least that is MY excuse! ;-))

RE: The

hehehehe Shelley,

I picture you standing in you kitchen with wrappers and crumbs flying everywhere staring at the clock counting down unil midnight :) Oh wait that was me!

RE: The

Oh good! But what about ice cream? I usually have frozen yogurt when I take the kids out for ice cream.

I usually can stay away from baked goods except if I make choc chip cookies. Ok, I won't make then until Fourth of July.

I'll give it a whirl!:)

Thanks

RE: The

Emily,

Kashi does makes waffles and they are pretty good. Not as good as a Belgian waffle... but i like them, and they are high fiber and high protein, and quick! They have regular and blueberry.:9 but they are a little pricey x(

I think Shelley is trying to kill me. No sugar all day. Palms sweaty. Heart palpitating. I think I feel a headache coming on. No, I was just smacking my head against the desk. Hope waning. Twenty-nine days to go.

My co-workers are staring at me *gasp*! Must get out of fetal position and do some work! x(

RE: The

I celebrated the last night of sugar with 2 (yes, that's not a typo, I said 2) s'mores cooked over the stove. My daughter looked doe-eyed when I told her I was giving up sugar for the month. She's very concerned that all future ice cream trips are off!
