One more day down and no sweets. I even found some sugar-free maple favored syrup to use on my stuffed French toast this weekend. It looks pretty decent, thick, not runny like water like most of those SF syrups.
Another day without any sweets. I resisted those cookies and honey buns the kids have on the counter. And the worst was the diet Mountain dew they had for supper. I miss that soda. That will probably be the first thing I consume on july 1. If I get hungry before bed I will probably eat a handful of grapes.
Well I may be the only one, but I think starting July the No Sweets Challenge should become a regular check-in.
Yesterday I cheated. I had ice cream and caramels and what else? I don't even remember LOL, but I know it was bad. I didn't even post yesterday because I felt so guilty. Of course I practiced portion control (I had the suggested serving size for ice cream and the suggested serving size for caramels, but still, they have added sugar and I failed yesterday!!!) Anywho today I'm back on the wagon and I have been good (I only had the last caramel remaining haha). I'm feeling strong so I don't think I'm going to cheat tomorrow.
I'm glad you had the courage to confess, Rose! Don't worry, like you said, put it behind you....tomorrow is another day. At least you're not using it as an excuse to give it all up! But if you cheat tomorrow......x( x( x(
How cool is this? One whole week and no sugar! I almost picked up a bag of my beloved Dove Dark Chocolates today at WalMart (force of habit) but truly was not even tempted. I felt a little dip in my energy level late afternoon and ate a pear. It was delicious - honest! Tomorrow is my daughter's Awards Banquet for school. Usually by the time our table is "released" to the buffet line, the desserts that are left are not very tempting. I'm not even going to look at them (just in case!)
I'm so impressed with all of our commitment and perserverance.

Angie ~ do you only give these things up for just that month? Or do you add back in gradually? That is some will power.
The water challenge is fine with me too. I think I already drink too much water though. I drink probably 3-4 Aquafina's 16.9 oz. I definitely couldn't add anymore. I'm constantly running to the bathroom!:-(
So far so good on the sweets challenge, but PMS is looming over head or should I say below the head! Is that considered an exemption? I'm going to need some serious chocolate or it won't be pretty around my house!!}( I just have my gd's b-day. I'll gladly give up her 6-27 b-day cake to have a little chocolate now. Pretty please?

>thinking it was ok
Terri ~ I thought that was OK too. I know that I have had one Diet Coke since starting this.
I just noticed the post time above for my other post. 2:40A, whoa, I was definitely sleeping at that time. What's up with that? It's usually off by an hour.
It must be my computer because I'm not getting any e-mail either.
Latest studies show that large quantities of water are not necessary. Heavy exercise days or hot weather however do require more water as expected. But If I recall, volumes such as 128 oz. of water/ day are really not ever indicated.
