"The last 10 pounds"

Cathlete
I honestly think these last few pounds I would like to lose are the hardest of all! I have considered that this is where my body wants to be (5-1, 119 lbs) but I would like to give losing more weight a shot. I know I am in much better shape than I ever have been (I look forward to IMAX, how sick is that?) but I am a type A, constant-improvement kind of gal.

It's almost like a high, in a way. It was so exhilerating every week to see the numbers go down, and now that they aren't it's a bummer. I'm hoping the new Cathes will jump-start things a little, too.

Any thoughts on plateau-busting?

Hi Rose (what is a bearcat by the way?)

:-jumpy :-jumpy congratulations on your success:-jumpy !

My 2 cents.

Anyway plateau busting I would say shake up your workout have a look at what you have been doing over the last say 4 weeks and shake it up, if you have been doing step maybe try say floor work. Remember your body gets used to working at a certain level and adjust to the demands made on it.

Also with food I am about to say something shocking you may need to slightly increase calories (again you body adapts to the changes made and sometimes to get it to get rid of those extra pounds you need to get it to let it go by giving it more calories).

I had a friend who plateaued and eat 1,000 calories and I saw a programme where a women had the same problem she plateaued she was exercising and eating healthly. Anyway the expert gave her the advice of changing her workouts and increasing her calories by about 500 calories. It worked.

Give it a try it might take a little while to shift but you have come this far.
