Hi Jes! I am slowly getting thru The Kite Runner. I am on page 82. I took it along to read on my layovers but was sooo worried with the delays and time changes that I couldn't concentrate on reading. Plus, KathyS & I traveled one leg each way together sooo we talked "Cathe" of course nonstop! :) Yes, I think we are discussing it in September. I like what I have read so far!

Hi Ladies- I got my book a couple weeks ago but haven't started it yet. I keep thinking I am going to but I have a hard time sitting still. Once I get into a book though I can sit still and read. It's just getting there. Sorta like when you don't wanna workout but once you start you just keep going! Anyway jess let me know when you plan to read it and maybe that will get me to start! :)

Ladies,
This book is so incredibly good. Once you figure out all the characters and the names it is a pretty quick read. I consider this one of the best books I have read. I can't wait to discuss this with my new friends. Enjoy the book!

My book came last week.

My son has to read it for his AP English class as part of his summer assignment. He is leaving for Italy on Saturday and will be taking the book with him, so I will have to wait until he returns before I can start.

I have heard nothing but raves about this book...

This is one of my all time favorites! I just picked up a new book that is another "can't put it down, house falling apart" kind of books. Just thought I'd pass it on, The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. It's great from page 1!!

Make sure you ahe a box of tissue handy. Every time I pricked up the book to read,I ended up crying!

I will reread again before September, maybe with less tears the second time around.

Oh boy, another book club!!!!! being farily new, I didn't know this was going on. I have read Kite Runner, & agree that it is a wonderful book - educational while touching. I look forward to the discussion in Sept.

I just recieved my copy in the mail...Is there anyway I can join your bookclub discussion? I have heard great things about this book.

I finished The Kite Runner a couple weeks ago and loved it. I loaned my copy to my sister, but will probably read again when I get it back. I just picked up Time Traveller's Wife today, at Limecat's suggestion. Can't wait to get into it!

I guess I should start this soon huh! I have been spending my summer reading the Faulkner set ( and loving it!) but this is ready and waiting. I am very encoruaged because I was talking to a gal who said it was one of the best books she had read in ages....and stressed needing tissues to get through it. Sounds like the perfect thing to go along with my pms;-)

I started Kite Runner this weekend and am about 150 pages into it. I look forward to discussing it. It certainly has my attention.

I didn't know there was going to be a discussion on this book! I just started reading it Friday. I'm halfway through it now. It is excellent. Admittedly, I zoned out a bit during the kite competition, but this really is an amazing read.

Dani53 ~ Are you on the second book yet of the Faulkner set? I'm about 30 pages into it, but keep falling asleep at night while reading. The first book was a slow start for me too. I guess I have to give it a chance. Now The Kite Runner, I couldn't put it down! Great book!
