Hi Cathe, and all :) Hope your legs healing well. I was just wondering what you do in the gym. Do you set yourself a weekly plan or upper body one day lower the next? What do you think works best? I'd love to know. ;-) fiona

Hi Dinky Doo! Right now I am not training my lower body other than with rehab exercises and this week I just started returning to my step aerobics on 6 inches.

Normally I try to hit each body part once a week in addition to the classes I teach. Sometimes one body part a session, sometimes two.

A sampler week when not in rehab:

Mon: Chest& Tri's

Tues: Legs (quads)

Wed: Back & Bi's

Thurs: Legs (hams and calves)

Fri: Shoulders & Core (core gets hit in my classes three times per week too)

Sat and Sun: Off

Aother sampler week:

Mon: Legs Overall
Tues: Chest
Wed: Back
Thurs: Hams and calves (since quads get more with step aerobics)& Core

Fri: Shoulders
Sat: Off
Sun: Bi's & Tri's

Thanks Cathe, I've found since doing your workouts that free weights can really hit a muscle group better than the big gym machines (chest) I love the gym style chest dvd. Legs though I like to use the machines every now and again for a real heavy session. }( You didn't say how long you spend on each body part ( i guess a good hard session, if it's got to last a week:eek: ) I work in a gym and this sounds good to me though because I could bring myself to stay on after a shift to work one body part. Speedy recovery Cathe, Fiona:)

Hi Cathe,

I'm glad to hear your injury is getting better.

I spin for cardio but notice my hams do not get much from the workout. I was wondering if I should be doing something different while spinning that would get my hams better? I just recently started targeting my hams with your DVD's by selecting specific exercises for the hams and doing walking lunges. Do you think I'm going about this the right way?

Thanks,
Debbie

Hey Cathe!

Thanks for posting your routine! I was just curious too if you add in more cardio besides your cardio classes you teach throughout the week? I rem you saying you like to run a lot...is that normally the type of cardio you do if you do add in cardio???

Thanks and glad to hear that your recovery is moving along very quickly now! Hope the doc gives you the "ok" to go ahead with the filming! :7 :7 :7

Hi Jbabefit! Yes, I do add running into my cardio program (when not in rehab of course). Sometimes indoor cycling too. Usually I like to do two (occasionally 3 if I had a sweet tooth attack, ha) 30 minute cardio workouts per week in addition to my classes.

Take Care!
