Some of you have read about my awful experieince with the personal trainer / RD I hired last October, and how after working out with her and following her diet to the tee I had gained 10 pounds - fat - not muscle. Without getting into the whole thing again, here's the link:

I haven't seen her since January. So get this. Yesterday I got my bank statement and there is a debit charge on there to her for $200.00!! }( }( I immediately called her new "business center" and was told that it was for the balance of the year working out on her equipment - albeit still not with her doing what I hired her to do - be my personal trainer.
I angrily explained that I only signed up for 4 months so that I could see how much time I could get away from my kids and get out to this center (20 miles away). Keep in mind, the second "center", 25 miles away, where she had another routine established for me had never been accessible due to IRS liens from the former owner. The young man I spoke with explained that the $25.00 monthly was only good if I signed up for a whole year. I told him Niki (the PT) NEVER explained that - but only said you couldn't beat the price of $25.00. When she ASKED if I wanted to go for a year I told her No - because I really need the in-home option and I need to assess my time availability. She then took my check for $100.00. Not only was there no kind of contract, I never provided any authorization for anyone to ever debit my bank account. All of my sessions with her were paid by check. (Apparently they have a new business practice of debiting peoples' bank accounts, though they have never gotten anyone's approval to do this.)
I told the young man that I expect to have the money credited back within 72 hours and that if it is not I will call first thing Monday morning and they will provide me with the name and phone number of their attorney. I thanked him and wished him good day. He called back 20 minuted later, indicated he had spoken with Niki, said the money would be credited back to me, and said she is now available to work out with me on Sundays. (This after she told me I had "outgrown" all of my equipment - including my up to 40-lb dumbells and 100-lb barlell. That was, ostensibly, the reason she switched my to machines. Can you say money?) Thank God for Cathe and P90X.
AARRRGGGHHHH!? WTH? Thanks for letting me vent!
