Got my first harvest of baby lettuces/spinach/greens last night. Made some yummy tacos last night for dinner, and will be salads for lunch. I love baby lettuce/greens. And fresh as fresh can be. YUM!!

We started a veggie garden last year, and it did really well, so we are doing it again this year.

The peas went in a few weeks ago, and seem to be doing well. We planted the beans, tomatoes, peppers, lemon cucumbers, carrots, brussel sprouts, and strawberries yesterday. Why brussel sprouts? They seemed like fun to grow. We also have a raspberry bush and a blueberry bush. And we seem to have some pumpkins/gourds growing up from where the pieces were tossed back into the garden last year. Can't quite tell what they are yet.

Here's a couple of pics. The veggie garden goes in the oval shaped spot in the middle of the backyard. The raspberry and blueberry bush each have their own big pot. The strawberries have their own whiskey barrel, and the lettuce is also grown in a great big pot.

Not a whole lot to see yet, though.

Nan-brussel sprouts ARE fun to grow! LOL We grew them the last 2 years and it's fun to watch them grow and to harvest them! WE LOVE our veggie garden, although it's not as fancy as yours! :)

I bought a partial share at a local CSA farm for the very first time, to try to support our local farmers. We visited the farm yesterday to see the plot and we'll have our first arrival harvest NEXT Wednesday. I'm so excited I can hardly control myself! We're planting our home veggie garden this coming week once we get the chance to till it.

OH, I LOVE this time of year....all those fresh veggies, herbs, YUM!!! We also do sweet potatoes, so we're always getting a good harvest well into the Fall season! YUMMY!

I'm so jealous! Our yard is the size of a postage stamp, so there's no room for a garden, plus the fact that my beagles would eat it all anyway! Looking forward to finding a new house (a year or two away still) where I can have a greenhouse! Someday . . .

Enjoy!
