The Firm on Lifetime Today

Hi has anyone seen The Firm on Lifetime today? Is it true that is was only $29.99 for i think was 3 tapes + the fanny? I would like to get some Firm to mix with all the Cathe that I have. Does anybody like the Firm? Thanks:)

I had the Body Sculpting system but traded it away. I kept the tall box though. IMHO the newer Firms are not as hard as Cathe. Ab Sculpt is way too easy. Cardio Sculpt is intermediate and is kind of fun. Body Sculpt is the hardest of the set and with heavier weights could be a shorter Cathe endurance workout. I didn't like Body Sculpt though because I thought it was boring.

You might want to try some of the older Firms. My favorite Firm is Total Body Sculpting Mix. I also like Firm Strength and Firm Cardio.

I agree that the newer firms are geared more toward beginners. The older ones, IMO before six or seven years ago, are pretty tough.

I totally agree w/ both of you guys..Barbara, IMO you should try older FIRMS if you want a challenge. The classics, tough tape, Super Cardio/Sculpting anything from Pre Goodtimes FIRM.

IMO the new FIRMS are not a good compliment to Cathe workouts at all!
But the old ones are!

I believe that Cardio Burn and Maximum Cardio (newer Firms, but not the newest ones) would be a good addition to your Cathe tapes. They are under 50 minutes in length and incorporate weight work with cardio. My heart rate stays up during the weight work. Two other older Firm tapes that I continue to like are Body Sculpting Basics and Aerobic Interval Training. I bought my tapes from www.half.com. I am new to Cathe and now have six of her tapes so I have put my Firm tapes away for a while. I can't wait to get more by Cathe! Enjoy!

Thanks everyone for taking the time to anwser my question. Im sure not going to buy the new ones. Right now IM sticking with all the Cathe's that I have. I just brought the 12 pack dvd special which I get Monday, can't wait. I already have a few of her others. The reason that I was thinking of getting the firm was because I don't know if this is true or not, I read somewhere not on Cathe's website that you should use different instructers when excersing. I can't seem to do that because I really enjoy working out with Cathe. I feel like im really working hard;-)

Woo-Hooo Barbara!

The 12 Pack??? You are in for a REAL treat! Let us know what you think. Tomorrow is the big day! (BTW, the Firm's "Standing Legs" is the only Firm I throw in with my Cathe's. (Although, I tend to stick just with my Cathe tapes) It is a good tape and quite challenging if you can pick it up. Have FUN!

RE: Woo-Hooo Barbara!

Actually the Firm videos can be as difficult as you want them to be, especially BodySculpt, which I've been using in in an endurance rotation with PH and CTX Upper and Leaner Legs, by simply upping your weights. I think some of them are a nice compliment to Cathe.

But I do agree, some of the older ones are great!

RE: Woo-Hooo Barbara!

One more vote for the older Firms Barbara. I have been doing them since 1986 and they literally transformed my fitness and muscularity. Having said that, Cathe has taken me to new levels and challenges I never thought possible. I do still mix the Firms in at times and some of my faves are Super Sculpt, Super Cardio, Cardio Step Mix, Firm Strength and Maximum Body Sculpting.

And yes, I am also planning on getting even more Cathe vids........

RE: Woo-Hooo Barbara!

Oh Debbie, I just want to keep buying all of Cathe's DVD, but I think right now Im just going to stick to what I have now. I just got my 12 pack DVD today. I just have to take some time and look at each one before doing them. Im ready to just put it on and do it but i know then I would be really out of place. Im probally maybe in about a month get some firm to go with Cathe. I think im going to get more cardio that doesn' use a step this way I won't get any injury. I will mix step and plain old floor cardio. What Firm has Cardio without step? Thanks everyone:7

RE: Woo-Hooo Barbara!

Volume 1!!! I know it's old but it is so good! This video started it all. If you want to look skinny this thing really works. Don't ask me why...maybe there is some truth to AWT? But it really does work fast. Just this January while I was being a piglet and couldn't make myself do any of my cardios I went back to it and in just a week I could start seeing a line in my delts...it's gone now because I only stuck with it for a week...Firms do lots of delt work.

Cardio Burn...is also good. Super cardio and Super Sculpting. I like Firm Strength with Pam Cauthen and Firm Cardio with Heidi Tanner. If you like lots of step ups/leg presses...Tough Tape. These are the only ones I'd recommend.

Please be prepared because they are different from Cathe. If you're only used to Cathe, you'll find them a bit ODD. But they are a whole lot better than Kathy Smith or Richard Simmons.

Barbara,

Another vote for older FIRMS. I like the Upper Body and Lower Body Split workouts. The lower body split is a 70 minute lower body blast for the intermediate exerciser. I also like their Total Body Sculpt and the cross trainers -Cardio and Strength. I lost a lot of weight using those tapes, but after doing them for over two years I was getting a little bored and decided to add to my two Cathe titles by getting the awesome Intensity Series...Bootcamp is the ultimate.
