Cathlete
Hi to all,

Thought I'd start this thread off and get everyones in put and opinions and then take it from there.

What would everyone like to do?

Check in daily?
Check in weekly?
Check in weekdays only?
Check in monthly?

Any other suggestions?

If its ok with everyone we decide as a group what to do and continue on permanently (spelling??) from there.

Andrea.

hello, i'm over 40, closer to 50 :(. I have a "thin" tire around my middle and unwanted skin under the upper arms. Would love to get rid of both. I feel I workout enough w/ weight training and running. My problem is eating. I do well w/ meals, it's snacking. Attacks in the evening. ANyone out there have good for you snack ideas? Thanks, Kay

Can we have a new thread every week and check in each day? I like the continuity of having more posts together.

Who do we have that's interested now?

Andrea
Kay
Lisa
me (Cindi)
Vilma
Tina
Laura
Indymom

Did PUB last night instead of chest and back with Tony. I really enjoyed it. Tonight I have Kung Fu class then will run with my Daughter.

Eating was very good yesterday. 1500 calories.

Vilma - I just celebrated my 20th wedding anniversary June 17. :) We have three children. 11 year old twins (boy/girl) and a 9 year old. They go to day camp during the summer while I work. Oh - and 2 cats. Lucky is 4 and Pebbles is 4 months. Pebbles was a b'day gift to my Daughter recently.

Lisa - I've never been bigger than an A except when pregnant and nursing! LOL. I just buy the stretchy bras that have not cup to them - I'm so small. I think Jockey calls them bralettes. See! I don't even qualify to wear a bra!

Andrea - I never wake up to eat, but I do struggle when making the kids lunches for the next day. I have to remember to chew gum so I won't snack.

IndyMom - Dark Chocolate would motivate me to do just about anything!

Tina - I did p90x last spring/summer and love how it toned my upper body and I did see some improvement in the legs too. Running + weights has been working really well for me. The cellulite is still there in back, but not as bad.

Laura - how old are your children? I know with three mornings are tough.

Kay - evening snacking is hard for me too. I like laughing cow cheese on a few crackers. Or a small bowl of high fiber/high protein cereal like Kashi Go Lean.

Good morning.
I prefer to check in daily. It doesn't matter if we start a new thread daily or weekly.
Just finished a 2 mile walk/run with cardio coach #1. I am trying to ease myself back into the habit of daily workouts.
I will be back later and hope you all have a great day. Laura;-)

Good afternoon everyone,

I am 39, or at least will be in August. Could I sneak in? Please? I have been lurking around the forums and wanting to join a check-in group. I am somewhat new to Cathe. A friend told me about Cathe a year ago but I was skeptical - diehard firmie. I started using her dvd's then got pregnant and had to stop (pregnancy issues) and now I am back to exercising. These forums help to motivate me and I hope a check-in will keep me "honest".

Daily check-in would be fine w/me, but I probably would not post on the weekends - home computer is slow.

Did LIC for the first time. I borrowed it from my friend, really enjoyed it, and will be buying it for myself.

Murphy

Hi Ladies,

I'm already more motivated this week now that we have our own check-in group, and would be fine with checking in each weekday. If we do one thread per week it's easier to subscribe to the thread just once a week. Today I was up early for my two mile walk. I am going to order Cardio Coach after reading that so many people absolutely love it! I still haven't settled on an exact Cathe rotation - which ones are some of you doing? I sure want to see the flab disappear from my tummy, thighs and under my upper arms.

Murphy, it's good to see you here! Have a great day, everyone!

Hello again Ladies.

Finished Low Max about 30 -40 minutes ago and what a sweatfest! Its was great.

Cindi:

DH & I celebrated our 20th June 12th ;)

Laura:

Daily check ins help keep me on top of my workouts also, reason why I do check in with the forums plus it's always a nice way to get to know the other members better.

Murphy:

Goodness I used the use The Firm years ago before Anna and her sister sold it to Good Times video - I still have the old Firms in the clam shell cases and never use them anymore.

Cathe has totally spoiled me and gives me workouts as if I were in a gym lol

Check ins do tend to keep me honest and the motivation is great! :)

Lucy:

You will love CC's they are fantastic and complement Cathe's workouts nicely.

BTW - How did this check in start?

I'm doing Debbie's aka FitnessFreak's Get Ready for Summer '08 rotation.

Since I had family visiting for two weeks I didn't workout fully so I'm on week 4 then will go backwards with it. So next week I'll be doing week 3 on the rotation and so forth. :)

It'll be great getting to know all of you as we continue checkin in this thread :7

Have a terrific Tuesday Ladies!

Cindi, thanks for the ideas. I have both in the house now. How long has everyone been doing Cathe tapes. I have for about 2 1/2 years. I wish I took before pix! Oh well... Love your description of your bra. LOL I'm an A too. sigh... Kay

Hi Everyone! I love having a checkin too and daily with a weekly thread would be my preference.

Today I did GS BSB, 3 mile walk with my dog, and iTread24 60 min run intervals. whew! Now I get to do "functional fitness" and mop the 1000 sq ft hardwood floor. :p I think I'd much rather do another iTread or Cardio Coach. :D

Idream, are you waking up to eat and are you really hungry? I know sometimes I wake up and am truely hungry and know I won't get back to sleep until I eat something, so I have a bite (or 2) of a protein bar. Sometimes I wake up and can't get back to sleep but I'm not hungry. That normally happens when I think my hormones are off, like before TOM. It's happening much less often these days now that I'm off hormones. Then of course there are the night sweats that wake me up :7 My bedtime snack is a nice protein shake, I use skim milk, protein powder, strawberries/banana, tsp peanut butter, and lots of crushed ice and blend in a blender. I just love it.

Lucy, I love the cardio coaches! And this Saturday is Cardio Coach Press Play workout that a lot of the Cathe people do and checkin on the OD. I'm sure Vilma and I can get you hooked!:+ plus Coach Sean has a great deal going on right now.
The rotation I'm doing is one that someone posted that has the newer Cathe DVDS titled "Cathe's 15 week Max Weight Loss rotation". I'm getting really good results from this.

Vilma, Lo Max is scheduled for Thursday for me this week, I can't wait, it's been a while since I've done this one.

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi everybody! Wow what a lazy day for me, should I feel guilty? I'll be back at work tomorrow - pretty happy about it so I can get back on track w/everything!

I'd like to post daily but have a weekly thread...I can keep up better w/everybody!

Hi Murphy! Welcome aboard - don't you just LOVE LIC? That and Low Max are probably two of favorites!

Vilma - I see you're doing Low Max later this week, have a blast!

Lisa - I love the sound of your protein shake. I've tried everything with whey protein and I can't seem to find something I like. I bought some strawberries, may try that tonight!

I've taken my dog to the park twice today, walked 2 miles with a friend this morning and right now getting ready to do CTX Kickbox/Biceps. I'm going to do this series this week....major soreness from yesterdays workout...Oh, how I love to be sore!}(

Eating - not so good today...a nice salad planned for this evening! I'm going to make protein pancakes to have for breakfast the rest of the week. If I have my meals prepared and ready to go I do so much better.

Indymom - you asked about a rotation. Would you and anybody/everybody else like to do a rotation with me beginning next Monday June 30? I'd like to do the April 07 Rotation. It's a mix of cardio and weights and you can tack on Bonus Cardio if you want to. You all check it out and let me know! I'd love it if you'd join me!

Better get off here before I talk myself out of working out;-)

Hi to everybody else I probably missed:7

Lisa - a quick question regarding your rotation - where is that one posted? I've searched but can't seem to find it. Thanks!

Lucy

The rotation I'm doing is one that someone posted that has the newer Cathe DVDS titled "Cathe's 15 week Max Weight Loss rotation". I'm getting really good results from this.

Thanks, Lisa! I'm looking at it now. Are you using all Cathe DVDs or subbing some of the Amy Bento workouts mentioned in this rotation?

Lucy
IndyMom

Lucy, I don't have any of Amy Bento's DVDs so I'm using Cathe's although I don't have any of Cathe's that are older than 2003 (except for Rhythmic Step). Sometimes I will sub or add in an iTread or Cardio Coach.

Hi everyone!

It will be great to check in with you all.

A little about myself, I'm 43, live in Australia. I have two daughters and a hubby. My horse is my third child and I love dressage riding. Since late last year I have had great difficulties in losing weight. My horse got very sick and he's had to have a long rest. So I put on weight! i started to workout with Cathe in about August last year, I was getting desperate to shift the weight. I simply CANNOT moveit! I've never had this problem until now! It depresses me! Plus to add to this, I am going through a phase where I have no choice, I HAVE TO EAT chocolate or lollies daily! I may get one day of sweet free, however, I can't maintain it! I'm possessed by the "Give me food and make it chocolate Devil"

So, thats a brief run down on me (very brief)

have a great day.

Andrea

Hi ladies (and welcome Murphy)!

I have tons of FIRMs. Almost all the old ones but I haven't bought some that have come out the last couple of years (the kits). I also have a decent number of Cathe's and am getting STS. AND I have a nice collection of Turbo Jam, Amy, Jari, FitPrime, some kickboxing, etc. Not sure how many woukouts I have all together though.

I did the FIRM years ago (early 1990's) along with some step workouts - including a Cathe step. But when the kids came along, all that was pushed to the side for about 6 years. I had the twins in 1997, then #3 in 1999 and didn't really workout again 2003. I started back with the FIRM but then found Cathe again and started adding her in a few years ago.

Right now I'm doing my own rotation which includes p90x weights (sometimes subbing other weights) with running 3x week. My daughter and I are doing a 10K in August so I'm working on that. Once that is done I may continue running/weights until I can get my hands on ChaLean Extreme or STS.

I also take Thai Kwon Do 1-2x week (with DH and kids) and Kung Fu 2x a week (also with family). The martial arts classes are not that tough since we spend at least half the class time learning new sets/practicing old ones (so don't be impressed!).

Eating has been very good this week. I'm very happy with the scale this morning. :)

Hello Ladies,

Today I wanted to be lazy but then I realized I would have to admit it on the check-in so I got up and did some yoga. I ended up doing over an hour. I do feel better that I got up and did not waste another day, another opportunity to be fit. Tomorrow is another Cathe day so wish me luck - I hope I can find my game face.

Cindi - you mentioned you have some FitPrimes. I have them too. I was thinking of doing them again. I have both series (forgot the name) and am on the fence about them. The re-mixed version seems a little easy compared to the original versions. Maybe it is the instructors. Some of them bug me - Pamela is way too happy!

Yep - I agree with you on the FitPrimes. I got the new ones for $4.99 when Discovery store was clearing them out. But have only done them when I had stopped working out for a few weeks and needed something easy, or if my back is acting up, etc. I should probably just get rid of them - but I have an unnatural attachment to my workout DVD collection. (and my cookbooks too - but that's another story!)

Hi ladies! I've been a Cathe follower since 2003 and just turned 44 this month. I too have had a harder time losing and maintaining the weight loss - especially around the middle - and would like to join the check in. I get depressed sometimes looking at younger women who don't do nearly the weight or cardio workouts that I do and they lose weight. I know so much of it has to do with age and the hormone changes. I have ordered STS and am anxiously awaiting it. I also run, spin, step, work out with weights (cathe predominantly) kickbox, walk the dogs etc. I feel I eat fairly well most of the time. I do need to be more disciplined though and hopefully checking in well be a good incentive.

Please include me in the check in! I look forward to our journey together.

Lynn:)
