Thanksgiving workouts?

Anyone planning to workout on Thanksgiving. I think of Thanksgiving as a day of giving thanks rather than gorging on food. I plan to do something, but not sure what yet. I also have two clients who want me to train them. Anyone else planning to do something--even a Turkey Trot?

Our cycling group usually does a 1-2 hour ride on Thanksgiving morning, usually around 10 a.m. It's a nice tradition. I love traditions!

This year we're taking a trip to TX for the week of T'giving and will be near the beach (South Padre Islands). I'm hoping to get out for a run or swim in the morning, and then we're taking a cruise for the evening and eating our T'giving meal on the boat! My kiddos are so excited! (ok, I am too!) I always try to run on T'giving morning, it just makes me feel like I can stay on track eating much better than taking a total rest day!

With 16 people coming at 12:30 I may not have time. I do hope to get up early and squeeze in 45 minutes on the elliptical. If my ducks (turkeys?) are not in a row at that point though I may be getting up early to run around the house like a maniac, trying to get it together.

Which I guess is a workout unto itself. :D

I'm going to try and do a cardio workout (Drill Max - Ultra Cardio Premix) or go for a run in the morning.

Oh yes!!!
I'm going to wake up early, put the turkey in the roaster, then do at least an hour of CC. I was thinking PP is perfect for Thanksgiving:)

I did that exact premix this morning! Wow! I was sweating and have been hungry all day (I'm in Germany so it's almost 4pm).

Normally, its tough cardio - either IMAX 3 or a run, and then an after dinner walk with the ladies. I am fighting a foot injury now, waiting on Xrays, so I don't know what it'll be this year, but at least a long walk in the morning, if I can't do anything else.

I plan my recovery week around Thanksgivings Thurs-Sunday days... We go out of town and I love not feeling like my workouts are my punishment for poor eating! ;) Its actually a time I end up losing weight as it shakes up the hard workouts/ultra clean eating regimine.

I LOOOOVE to workout first thing Thanksgiving morning! I will plan on doing something great like Drill Max - to the best of my ability in my present condition anyway! Have fun!

It will probably be a rest day although after dinner we may go for a walk. I will be hosting 20+ people at 1pm plus have 2 people staying over. They'll probably be in my workout room and I highly doubt my DH will appreciate me turning on the lights and the TV in our bedroom after popping the turkey in the oven (which *would* be the best time to do it!). We'll see.... if I can put my parents somewhere other than the workout room I'll be good!

I will be at my Mom's house and plan on going to bed early so that I can get up at 4:00 am for Black Friday shopping. :p

BMax2 scrambled eggs and hoping to get in for an early spin class (these are by sign up only this year.) Whatever you all are planning, give thanks for the ability to do it.

That's right Lorrie. When things get too hard, you have to remind yourself just how lucky you are to have those legs to do it.

Definitely something...a few mentions of Drill Max made me think that might work...or I might still be in my current rotation (can't remember) so I might just stick with that. I like that this made me think about it. :)

I will be doing some cardio, not sure what yet... the bm2 scrambled cardio sounds good though.....:)

What a great point, Lorrie. Thanks for the reminder!!

I will definitely be working out on turkey day, not sure what though. I am cooking, although right now it looks like I'm only cooking for about 6 people so not too stressful.

Black Friday I usually "rest" because, although I am up at my usual hour of 4 am, I am out scoping deals and pushing thru crowds shopping. But I'm not sure if I am going... I have almost finished my shopping!
