Hi Tammy! The tapes will definitely tone you up. Keep your weights on the lighter side at first. If you are happy with the results using light weight, then keep your weights light. If you feel that you are not seeing enough definition, then slowly increase your weight by just a few pounds until you achieve your desired results(always giving your body a chance to respond to your current weight selection by waiting a few weeks before changing the weight). Once you are happy with your results, maintain that weight until it no longer challenges you.
As for weight loss, you do need to add cardio activity to your weekly routine. Do cardio 4 times per week and see how that works for you. You can always add more cardio if necessary. Good Luck!
