Thank you, ladies!!!

I just wanted to say thank you, everyone, for just being around. I know that sounds way on the mushy side, but bear with me. You all are dedicated to fitness and health, and it's just so darned nice to come here and talk about that sort of thing. I have some great in-person friends, but none of them quite understand my passion for fitness. Some think I'm nuts. So thanks again - for all the great advice, information and fun!

LOL Shannon...I know what you mean. I have an SIL who's a PT but that's it as far as friends/family who are into fitness AT ALL, let alone DEDICATED to it the way we are!

I come here every day with out fail because not only is it fun to socialize with everyone but it's the only place I can go to talk about what I do every day where someone will understand!

My SIL wouldn't even understand completely cause she's not into Cathe and even though she has recently become a PT, she never worked out as hard on such a steady basis as I do.

I hear ya, Shannon. Most people just look at me and say "you're crazy" when I tell them how much I work out. It's so nice to have a place where people understand and don't think you're insane! Well, not for working out like a fiend, anyway;)

Shannon...I am glad you are here....and it is nice to share my obsessive compulsiveness for exercise with everyone here...:)...Carole

I can relate, Shannon. Absolutely none of my friends exercise...zero. They don't know what to think of me most of the time when they come over and my weights are out in the livingroom or they call me on the phone and I'm on the treadmill.

You always get those comments..."I would exercise too if I had the time"...or..."I admire you for sticking to an exercise program because I never could"...stuff like that. We all hear similar comments from our non-fitness-motivated friends.

And being 40something...it helps to stay focused on health and fitness by having fitness forums like this one to talk with like-minded people.

:D :) :D :) :D :) :D :) :D

Oh...and to find out what's new in the world of fitness!

Yes it is really nice to find people who think alike!! The ladies in my neighborhood are really NOT into fitness at all. One or two may be at least walkers or do something, but most do nothing. MY husband loves me, but thinks I am crazy cause I get downright depressed when I can't work out for health reasons, etc. Anything more than one or two rest days a week really gets me bummed. I don't understand how anyone could not want to feel the best they can and feel good when they look in the mirror, and feel strong when they do things. To me, that's crazy!

I can relate too. This is a great place to come. I've learned so much. I agree with the above post that I always learn about something that I just have to have. My credit card has gotten quite the workout in this past year!;-)

It is nice to have you here and others too. I think it is wonderful that we can motivate and inspire each other. I can't talk to anyone about fitness here except to my family and they don't like to hear me talk about it ALL the time so it is nice to come here. I get weird looks, frowns, turned up noses when I discuss fitness with a few people that live in my area. I have the hardest, hardest time when I go out with some friends or certain family members and they eat once a day!!!! This burns me up!!!!! They have no understanding of proper nutrition, not one bit! I have learned so for now on, I am bringing a beach bag with me full of food when I go visit again so I don't starve!!!! LOL

Me too. Sadly, I cannot think of one person, from my family and coworkers that I can share my passion of being in fit.

Either they will look at me as a person from out of space or feel uncomfortable knowing I will start talk abut anything that start with exercising. Anyone I mention about Cathe, they just draw a blank expression.

Thank goodness for Cathe and this forum. There is no doubt that I would have fallen off the wagon long ago without the supports from all of you.

And for that, I thank you.
:) :)

I was actually going to start a thread asking does anyone give you grief about Cathe or weight training?. I tell people I started weight training and they look at me like I just landed from Mars. As soon as I told SIL I was working out to Cathe I showed her Fit TV I said "doesn't she have a perfect shape" her reply "Her arms are way too big" Well I guess mine are too then. GEEZ! I am never embarresed by being fit and muscular although I am not quite there I have noticed the change in my body. My problem is fine tuning my eating habits.

Agreed. I so enjoy this forum for great information (everyone seems to ask the questions I want answers to & I rarely even get to ask any - less typing:) ) and fun.

Can I join in the group hug? :D This board is so motivational and inspirational! You guys encouraged me to try P90x and I am seeing great results! I probably never would have tried it on my own. THANKS TO ALL here!!

It IS hard to find people who understand our passion for fitness. I find that some people look at it either as a vanity thing or just too much work to consider it. Several ladies in my office say they want to lose weight (and we're getting a work out room in our office soon so we'll see!) but no one seems interested in my Cathe workouts I tell them about. Possibly because it's advanced and looks too tough to tackle. But we all had to start somewhere! I'm fortunate to have a husband who's into fitness and body building. He - and you guys! - keep me motivated!

No, thank you Shannon for being part of the group--you're an awesome lady & I'm so glad I've had the chance to "meet" you! :)

Had to put in my 2 cents considering I am a newbie to the board. I have been working out to Cathe for about 2 years know and I have learn SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH from all of you guys. And many of your picture trails are so inspirational it keeps me motivated. What is funny was when I started 2 years ago I think my husband thought I had lost my marbles but I have to say he has changed his mind when finally the extra baby weight that hung on for a couple of years was gone and the girl he dated before kids came back. I have learned just by reading on this board and to all of you who are dedicated here THANKS from the NEWBIE
