for being so patient with me. I am new to Cathe and have posted several times before. I am awaiting the beginner/intermediate series and doing Cathe on Fittv. I do enjoy her workouts, but somethings bother my knees and back. So I try to modify...
Thanks for all your advice and imput, all the dvds are so overwhelming and it is hard to decide were I should go next...You all are the best. :)

Welcome to the world of Cathe. You will be amazed at what you achieve when you just set your mind to it. When you finally get a step combo down that you found impossible a few months earlier and feel a HUGE sense of accomplishment. Keep focused...don't ever allow yourself to feel defeated. Cathes workouts are challenging mentally at first but it does keep you from getting bored. I call Cathe my brain candy of a instructor!

As far as your knees and back... Modify, modify, modify if needed. Your body may be just getting use to the impact of certain moves. I had that problem with my back and knees. My knees got better...but once my core got stronger..the back pain made a complete 180!

Best wishes...and keep coming here! This is a very well educated and loving crowd in Cathe's community.

LOL, the World of Cathe. That's so true!! ;)

I'd like to put a vote in for floor mats. I don't know what kind of floor you work out on, but I had some knee pain a few months back, then I got some floor puzzle mats on ebay and now I use them all the time. I have old old old (disgusting, rental floors, they took up the carpet and just left it like this...) hardwood, which I thought was relatively forgiving, but the mats are great! I spent about $25 on the mats with shipping, they make a space 6x4, but you can get more mats and make it bigger (I just did that too). There are a few threads you can search for if you're interested in what others have done.

Have fun!!! And the core suggestion is a good one, too. I find when I'm really tired, my back hurts from me dragging along and not standing up straight. Same thing, I guess. HTH

OH that is funny you mentioned mats. I just got some and boy do I feel like I'm springy when I do step or hi/lo. What a difference! But, then I realized...I was jumping way up on the step...and almost got tangled in the ceilig fan. But, that is WHY I turn it off....I have almost lost fingertips in that darn thing!!!!!! But, on a serious note....it has helped a ton with those mats. They DO make a difference. NOW...to figure out how to keep those things from scooting across the floor. I had to stop several times to adjust the mats because it had my step crawling further away...and I almost crashed into a wall. Oh...the dangers! Giggle.....

Thanks for suggesting!!!
