-----TGIF---(((squeaky.clean)))---TGIF-----

Whew, yesterday was busy and exhausting! A full day of work, then Collin wanted to go swimming, then Chris had a friend over working on a car - I didn't sit down until almost 10pm! But my day was clean, and eats were balanced. Looking for the same today.

Another busy day ahead - need to lift this morning, work, errands on my lunch hour, the same guy is coming over tonight to work on the car and bringing his 6 year old so I will have an extra kid to entertain, and I also have to bake two cakes and make a bunch of frosting (I am making a pumpkin cake for a "bake off" dessert competition tomorrow).

Kate, I need to make leaves for this pumpkin... Should I use green fondant? Or maybe just any color fondant and then paint them with chocolate? Or is there something else that is pliable that I could use? For the stem and the leaves, I am sorta thinking that I want them to be brown/yellow/red instead of green. What do you think?

Oh yeah, and Nina.... 21 miles? Get it, girlfriend!

Katie, Your cake sounds awesome! Personally, I love to use fondant. Yes, it tastes nasty, but it is so easy to turn into anything you want it to be. I would think painting w/ chocolate would be more work than pre-dying the fondant. Oh, I wish we were closer to work on this stuff together! We would turn out some awesome desserts!:D Are you making the pumpkin out of 2 bundts stacked?

Normal day here - and I woke up late so GG for now. bbl...

Morning peeps

Nina great run yday:eek:

Katie that good choice. I can almost smell it now.

Kate what GG?

Crazy day at work again...long hours.

bbl

katie, i seriously think you should open a bakery, or market your sweets.

kate, good morning - overslept here too, felt great!

robin, how are you today? recovering fromyday?

hey wendy, feel better! are you going to the dr.

gotta get breakfast going but will bbiab.home day today!

Yes Kate, two bundts stacked, iced with cream cheese frosting (tinted yellow). I will think about the fondant... Do you make your own or buy it?

I wish I could afford to open a bakery - my dream!

hi everyone!

nina, whats for breakfast? and hows it going without dh?

robin, what kind of work do you do?

katie, that cake sounds fab! i looooooove to bake but cakes have never been my thing, specifically the decorating leaves me feeling out of my element. i did do a lemon cake for my bros bday in may that came out great, i was so proud of myself. good luck with the bake off!!

morning kate!

well, i woke up feeling... the same =( gonna try taking some mucinex today and see if that helps things get moving (sorry if TMI). dh is packing right now, going for 2 nights out to NM where his dad is being ordained finally. (yes, we are jewish, and this is a long story i will yall sometime...) i am hoping to get to a class at the gym in abt 2 hrs but need to give dh a chance to pay with JJ and enjoy before he has to leave! so we shall see if that works out. the class is called centergy and its supposed to be a mix of yoga and pilates with breathe and meditastion. im picky about my yoga but figure its worth trying, right?

brkfst - grk yog (finally found some i like, the fage tasted chalky to me), tsp grapenuts for crunch, half banana, coffee

lunch - salad with chicken

d - planning to make sloppy joes...

Good Morning Everyone! I am so glad it is Friday. I am exhausted and I need some time to rest. Sushi was good last night - I like salmon and tuna and california rolls. Didn't get much time with Chris because he was on the phone the whole time there and too exhausted for conversation on the way home. Hopefully this weekend we will have some time together. This morning's workout was 4DS KB (the whole thing).

Wendy, I didn't like fage greek yogurt either. I thought I was being too picky but I am glad to hear someone else doesn't like it either. I hope you feel better.
Katie, have fun baking tonight. The cake sounds really good.
Nina, ^5 on the 21 miles.
Robin, I hope you survive your day at work.
Kate, I woke up late too but I made up some time somewhere in my morning routine. I am glad you like CA. I really didn't think it worked my abs so I did Insane Abs more.

Tomorrow I am thinking of doing an insanity workout from Month 1 instead of 4DS BC (I don't think it gets my HR up enough). Any suggestions?

b: oatmeal w/ almonds
s: banana
l: taco salad?
s: strawberries & yogurt topped with walnuts
d: pizza

colleen, i know, everybody raves about fage and i just didnt like it! i like the cabot and the stonyfield farm greek and i do plain, vanilla, or honey.

i missed the class because JJ and daddy were playing but its ok, will wo later at home. its def yoga day and ill see how i feel for ub wts. we were out for a walk and headed to the libary for storytime and the little stinker fell asleep in the stroller. so im here at the library and hes been snoozing for abt 45 mins! thought i would pop in =)

hi everyone!

Hola, chicas!

Wendy, I'm a librarian, so I always like to hear of people visiting the library. Does yours have good story time for the kids? :D Are you feeling any better today?

Colleen, I hope you get to rest up this weekend.

Katie, I bet that cake will be spectacular! You all know I can resist sweets for weeks at a time, but I'm making guacamole for dinner tonight. Yum.

Nina, what's on tap for today? Did DH leave already?

Robin, are you still enjoying your job? Long hours are tough, I know I get cranky if I have to work more than I'm used to.

Kate, I didn't get GG until just now either--gotta go, right?

Klaudia, are you feeling better? I'm guessing no since you haven't been around. I hope your family is taking good care of you. How is your mom doing these days?

Hi, Lisa, how are things with you today?

Becky, did you ever get your permanent crown?

Angie, how is your visit to the States going? Is the jet lag getting any better?

Who did I miss?

Okay, Lisa, I'm going to the thai place for lunch today. I'll think of you!

Tomorrow I'm off to visit my parents. My latest epiphany is that Jim was not a good husband to me for at least the last 3 years of our marriage, so why am I whiny about losing him? I'll be better off in the long run.

anne

oh anne, i can see being whiny about a lousy husband. it is the loss, the idea, the ideal, the partner, the friend. grief, anger, resentment ar eall normal. that said, thai sounds fab, as does guacamole. how do you make yours?

colleen, i like the cardio abs, but i add planks at the end too. maybe do either cp and r or plyo circuit? i love em all.

wendy, what yoga dvds do you have? how long will dh be gone for?

went for a long swim. i forget how much that wipes me out without being at all sore. it is so strange. lunch is done. i am eating a lot, but probably still replenishing yday. it is clean, so that is good, and i can lighten up the rest of the day. boys are kind of fussy, but okay for the first day dh is gone. must see both my parents this weekend. hopw it goes okay. biab

oh, does anyone watch grey's? is izzy gone for good? i dislike her but would like her character back b/c i love how she humanizes alex, my fav;)

Busy day, wiley baby!:D

GG is gotta go!:p

Robin, Good luck at work!

Nina, Enjoying your home day?

Wendy, I wish I liked grk yog - all yog just smells awful to me. Can't bring myself to eat it
Centergy sounds great!!!
Hope you get well SOON!!!

Colleen, lalalalala....I can't hear you!!! I wish I had Insane Abs! What do you think of the rest of the deluxe part?
Sorry your evening out didn't turn out how you wanted.

Anne, Good attitude re Jim. Hope you have a nice wkend!

Lisa, How's that sweet P?:D

Klauida, How ya feelin?

anne, i HRT the library!! we have a fab local library and i am there almost daily. not just books... workout videos, books on CD for dh, storytime, music, oh my! i really truly love the library and all (ok MOST, lol) who work there =) idk many details because i am still new here at CT but sorry to hear youve had a hard time of separation (i think anyone does, regardless of the quality of relationship) but it sounds like you are coming to a positive place?

nina, my dh will be back monday. how long is yours away? flow yoga was a new love for me during this pregnancy and then i had to back off due to my wrists. ive been easing back into it slowly because classes are 90 mins in a heated room! dont own many yoga dvds yet, a few shiva reas i like (yoga shakti, fluid power), a few others i cant recall because i dont like them and the rest i get from the lib... really enjoying baptiste long and lean lately. do you have a yoga collection? not into greys, sorry! i prefer crime dramas and trashy reality housewives =)

cant believe JJ is still sleeping in his stroller beside me... i am starting to get bored surfing the internet! theres no way i could transfer him to bed otherwise i would have gone home to work out, oh well.

Just got my Insanity done and eats are parfait!

Wendy, Go JJ go!!!! Julia's taking a nice long nap right now too!
My new internet addiction is shutterfly. I am so behind in my scrapbooking so I'm doing photobooks on that site. I love to scrap but I'm so far behind it's scary. And this is actually cheaper - who knew?

hi kate - i mustve missed you there! you are like mighty mom over there... baking, scrapbooking and all... i am so not creative in a scrapbooking kind of way. glad youre getting a nice long nap from J!! we are home now and mine is eating meatballs and broccoli and making silly noises =)

theres a nice group i wanna get out to at 3:30pm at the family network. gives JJ a chance to play at a different place and i get to chat with my mama friends...

my wo will have to wait until he goes to bed and i hope i can make it that long, ive been wanting to konk out so early with this stubborn cold.

oh, kate, forgot to say, my new internet addictions are your fault, lol!! cookscountry and cooks illustrated =) you turned me on to those a few months back...

Glad you like them! Ever go to foodgawker.com? DANGER! DANGER!:p:p You have to be selective in what you would cook - not everyone on there knows what they're doing in the kitchen, but I've gotten quite a few faves off there.

Your moms group sounds nice. It would be nice to look into for me but I don't know when I'd have the time to go w/ the girls' bus schedules.... Guess that's what I have you guys for!:D

Good luck w/ the WO, but don't beat yourself up if you don't get it!
-
off to pick up the girls at school and take them to dance class..... see ya latah!

Kate, how was dance class? I would love to take Irish step, too, but dance two nights a week is enough right now.

Wendy, stay away from foodgawker.com. It's food porn. Seriously addictive, I'm not kidding. And Kate's right, some of the recipes look way better than they are. But if you're careful you'll find some good ideas. And don't let Kate tell you about pioneerwoman.com either.

Nina, best guacamole ever (imho--okay not so humble, but it's really yummy!):

avocado
finely chopped onion
microplaned garlic
salt
pepper
jalapeno
cilantro
lime juice

Mush it all together and eat. If you don't like spice, skip the jalapeno and it's still good.

Hi to everybody else. I bought limes, cilantro, and jalapeno at lunch time, so I'm making the guac as soon as I get home, I think. Then I can eat it while I watch the Food Network. How's that for planning?

Have a good Friday night, everyone! I don't know if I'll be online tomorrow. We'll see how I feel when I get home from M&D's.

anne

Anne, I wish I liked avocado!!! It's just too mushy for me.
Hope it goes good w/ your 'rents!

Clean eats and getting the wee ones settled into bed.

I LOVE FRIDAY NIGHTS!!!
