Jen--I understand about the money woes. We were really stretching things tight when Henry was born and I quit working. Miraculously, things worked out. God provided. I agree with Kate about the consignment shops. I'd send you some of my clothes (my smalls/mediums) because I've ventured into the XL maternity area (which is QUITE scary if you've ever SEEN an XL maternity garment LOL), but I'm so short, I know my stuff would be way to short on you. Consignment is great and even thrift store because women only wear this stuff for a very short amount of time. Also, and don't laugh, but K-Mart has some decent maternity clothes for lots cheaper than other stores, and now that they are owned by Sears, their stuff seems good quality. I've always loved their Martha Stewart linens anyway. I bought a couple of shirts there on clearance a couple of weeks ago for $2 each. They were just T-shirts to wear with khakis. I'm all about shopping K-Mart/Wal-mart for maternity and kid stuff because maternity stuff isn't worn that long, and kids grow out of clothes SO quickly.
Kate--Yep, we wash the dog ourselves. She's relatively small. Only about 19 pounds. She's just very hairy. The last time I took her to get groomed was when we lived in Kentucky, and the place had fleas, and she came home swimming in fleas. I was SOOOOO mad. I am SOOOOO icked out by all bugs, especially fleas. Blech!! So now we bathe her and give her Frontline at home. I even cut her hair the last time! LOL Don't think I'll be doing that any time soon, though. It was a tough job! As for Henry/fever, when we moved to Kentucky (we lived there for a very short amount of time), Henry was only 1 year old. About the second or third week we were there (I knew NO ONE there, btw), he developed a fever of over 104. I FREAKED out, and I called every pediatrician in the very small town, and they informed me they were taking no new patients. I was crying in the phone, and they still refused me. I had to take him to the ER, and it was "just a virus." Well, about a year later, we were living here and his fever shot up past 104 one night, and I called my very wonderful pediatrician at home, and she said to take him to Children's hospital. She thought it could be pneumonia. Turns out it was another "virus." I have always heard the kids tend to run big fevers sometimes, but Oliver never ran a fever over 101 in his life. It's very very scary -- I know. I'm still worried about him and these mystery fevers, so when he goes for his 4 year old check up in December, I'm going to get them to do a blood test to make sure he is OK. I'm SUCH a worrier!
