Terri Reeves Kick It, anybody try her

I was wondering if anybody has tried Kick It by Terri Reeves?
I just really enjoyed her tapes and found them very refreshing and a nice change from Billy. Don't get me wrong, I love Tae bo but it was just nice doing a real kickboxing video with a female lead.
I am planning on writing a review hopefully sometime this weekend (but am nervous since I have never done it before). I guess I just wanted to spread the word about her to other kickboxing fans that might not have heard about her. I heard about her thru a friend and I am hoping that maybe thru word of mouth, if enough people are interested and like her tapes, then maybe she will do more.
You can check out her web site at

ps does anybody know how I change my e-mail address? the one that shows is from last year.
thanks in advance

Kickboxing

I would like to see your review of this tape. I went over to her website and tried to look at the preview but I could not tell much from the review. Is this video truly advanced? (like Cathe's tapes). I look forward to seeing your review. The tapes are reasonably priced @ 19.00. I also read where she will be teaching at the Firm Studios.

Yes, please!

I would love to read a review of this video since I love kickboxing and would like to expand my collection to add a new instructor. Is there jumproping in the advanced tape? Terri Reeves mentions conditioning but I don't know what she means by it. I can't wait until my brother's new computer arrives so I can see the video clip as the latest version of Real Player won't work on my laptop.

hi Sharon

No, there is no jump roping in this tape. Her conditioning is she uses light hand weights thru out the workout and you work two different muscle groups at the same time. (ex. Firm)
Like using your biceps/triceps while you do plie squats. I really felt it in my inner thighs the next day.
I am really hoping to get the review up tonight or tomorrow. Guess I have to admit, I am just nervous about doing it since I have never written one before.
I will post on the VF forum when I get it submitted ok.

Thanks, Teresa!

I am really looking forward to your review. Don't be nervous as there are all different styles of reviews at Video Fitness and I appreciate them all, as I'm sure others do, too.

Review

Teresa, will you post when you have written your review. I don't normally visit the VF forum. I am looking forward to your review.

2workout, yes I will

post here as soon as I submit the review. Here I was getting all ready to do that two days ago and Wendy asked for people doing reviews to hold off until everything is working properly at the forum.
In a way I was relieved cause I have never written a review before but I really like her personality and workout and just wanted to pass her on to others who might not know about her.
I have no idea how long it will be at vf before we can submit new reviews so if you want to, you are more than welcome to e-mail me and I will try to give you a mini review.
my new e-mail address is:

Changing your email

Teresa, just go to the top of the page and click on the info button. Choose the 'modify account' option and type in your new email address and hit the submit button. Should work like a charm.

Hi Teresa!

Just scroll up to the very top of this page and you should see the "info" icon. It won't be on the top of the page where you are posting back to someone if that makes sense?? Let us know.

Mini Review

Hi there! Well, I couldn't resist putting my $.02 in here about the Kick It tapes with Terri Reeves. I'll let Teresa do a detailed review of it, but I wanted to share my enthusiasm with Teresa on these tapes too!

She has 3 tapes that has 4 workouts on them. Tape #1 is the instructional and Beginning/Intermediate workout. Tape #2 is the Express workout and Sculpting workout. Tape #3 is the advanced workout.

As Teresa is I'm also a Taebo lover and it's very unsual for me to enjoy other non Taebo kickboxing tapes. With that in mind I have to say I really enjoy these tapes with one exception. Like Teresa mentioned, Terri's personality just shines in these tapes. She's just full of energy! There is some whooping from the background participants for those who are annoyed by that..but it didn't bother me when doing the workout. My favorites are the Express and Beginner/Intermediate ones cuz they are both shorter. The express is about 20-25 minutes and the Beginner/Intermediate is about 30 minutes. The majority of the choreography in these two workouts are also in the advanced. The choreography is very simple...like Taebo is however, it's more high impact than other kickboxing videos cuz she's constantly on her toes doing the boxer shuffle while doing the punching combos. She also shows modification for those who don't like to bounce alot. She even mentions in one of the workouts that she's a bouncer

There is very little kicking in these videos. So for someone who enjoys more kicking then you probably wouldn't like these too well. The music is pretty much the same in all the videos too. It's good high energy music but repetitive in that it's repeated.

The only negative factor for me is she does all the routine focusing on one side for half the workout..then she repeats the same choreography on the other side. This is the only reason why I don't particulary care for the advanced workout cuz it's long..bout 60 minutes and I felt the choreography was too repetitive. Now with the other two cardio workouts the length was perfect for the type of choregraphy she used.

If you really enjoy cardio and a higer impact version of footwork and Taebo choreography minus the kicking combos then you would enjoy these. I only did the sculpting tape once but as Teresa pointed out..it was really a good light strength workout. You can't use heavy weights as the reps are too fast and she does compound exercise moves by working the lower body at the same time your working the upper body, but my arms felt cooked after doing that workout!! And usually I only workout with very heavy weights..so I was pleasantly surprised with the results I felt.

Teresa..I can't wait for your detailed review on these tapes!! I know you will give a wonderful review!!!

Thanks, Deb!

I really appreciate your mini-review. Since I like to kick, I'll probably take a pass on the advanced tape. Thanks for saving me some money - so that I can spend it on another tape.
