Teenage Boys and Xmas

What does an aunt get her teenage nephews for Xmas?? Ages range from 11-19? I could do the easy thing and get gift cards and/or money and I'm sure they'd be put to good use, but I feel like that's such a cop-out gift. Any suggestions??? My teenage nieces are easy....you cant get enough clothes, purses and jewelry as far as they are concerned, lol!

It really depends on what their interests are.

My oldest boy loves Magic the Gathering, anything to do with art supplies(drawing tablets, art pencils both colored and charcoal), video games, movies (movie theater tickets), electronics, cologne, clothes.

My youngest likes the guitar so I got him some band picks on eBay, American Eagle necklace, video games, movie theater tickets, electronics, cologne, band posters and t-shirts.
They appreciate money and gift certificates. Graphic tees too!

My older teens liked things for their cars, gift cards to a favorite restaurant (to take a girlfriend to) and movie tickets to the local theatre.

The younger range still liked getting legos, nerf guns and sport related items.
For example, they were into soccer and loved getting new soccer socks, t shirts, shin guards etc.

I think that gift cards or money is really your best bet and not a cop out at all. My sons are well out of their teens now but I remember when that was what they wanted. I really had no idea what the latest video game was or which were the coolest sneakers. I also remember how happy they would be when it was a gift card or money so they could choose for themselves. Now I rely on girlfriends and wives for clues.

My teenagers prefer money or gift cards to their favorite stores. I think boys like to shop just as much as girls do these days!

I have nephews in that age range - my largest requests are for video games, XBox Live Cards - they are into aerosoft guns - Aeropostile Hoodies/ Abocrombie Hoodies - Hoodies are huge - get them one of those.

My nephew is 12 next month (time flies!) On his list are Wii games and accessories, hoodies and fleece sweats for hanging out. He also enjoys the sci-fi and fantasy series that are out, such as the Keys to the Kingdom series by Garth Nix.

Gift cards aren't lame though. The kids love to be able to choose their own gifts sometimes. :)

Teenagers gifts

I have a 17 y/o girl and 16 y/o boy. My son does like nice, cool clothes from Abercrombie, Echo Unltd, and this year we're gonna get him some jewelry and his own tool box of tools so he can learn to 'tinker' and fix things (my husband's idea). I-tunes gift cards are good so they can download their music and I even bought my daughter an Amazon gift card for her birthday - the gifts are endless on Amazon! Although, I HATE gift cards, this was really for her to buy movies she wanted for her new DVD player and instead she found a bracelet she wanted.

Not sure what your price range is but maybe you and someone else can chip in and get them a PSP 3000? It's a protable video game system that plays movies, games, MP3s...you name it. My brother just got one for his bday and he is in love with it. It sounds pretty cool.

My teenagers prefer money or gift cards to their favorite stores.

Same for my boys - cash, gift cards, or I-Tunes. That way their not getting something they don't like & can maybe get what they didn't receive but wanted.

We do the same for our neices & nephews - **cash**. Wish their Aunt would do the same. Whatever she gets them usually winds up stuffed in a back corner of the closet :(. I don't be to sound rude or ungrateful but better to spend money on something useful than not

Another thought:

Write/call/e-mail them & ask them to put together a list of 5 things they would like in a wide price range so you can fit it to your budget. Then they get what they want & you aren't going the cash/gift card route.

well, for my own teenage boy(16) he is asking for xbox live card, underarmour anything and cell phone. along with the cell phone, i get both my kids everyyear a tone card so they can download a new ringtone when they want and its prepaid. but i agree with others, they looove money.

I have three teenage boys and they really prefer cash, but they ask for gift cards because I think asking for cash seems rude.

I'm having trouble coming up with stocking stuffers for them, though. All they like is junk food and money!

I live with my 17yo and he would probably return anything I would buy:confused: He's very picky. He likes to pick out his own things. Add in that all the relatives live 2500 miles away... gift cards/checks are very, very welcome
